North Dakota Dongers's trade block has been updated!
-
With full disclosure, though, it was the last place team and is terrible. it'll be a project.
-
Hey guys. It looks as though I'll have an opening in another league of mine (called Cargill Tax). Can't find an owner among my work colleagues, so will abandon the team this weekend. Would love if one of you take it over.

Thanks guys, and thanks to everyone for a great year. Lots of active managers makes this a fun gig. Arbitration starts soon - enjoy the off season.
-
My congrats as well, Crick! You are a savvy manager with a tough team to beat. Maybe next year, but for now I'm going to enjoy my silver. Nice job Warning Track, that was a fun last few weeks.

Congrats Crick. I was within striking distance a week or so ago but all I had was warning track power. Bourn also had a great season, it is a shame that Harvey went down or this could have been more interesting. Looking forward to doing it again next year

thanks for going with the flow, Santa Clara
-
I think I was the only one with objections, so I'll let it go. Anyway, I actually stand to be better off w/ the new arb rules this particular season. It tends to punish the good teams more.

working on a view of last year's standings, but I can't seem to find a way to pull them up
-
If we decide we hate it, then we'll switch back next season.
-
OK - absent violent objection, we'll switch to the allocation method this year as an experiment. Read up!
-
I'm not sure, but I'll check.
-
Is there a way to find last year's standings?

good luck to you as well - amazing for it to be this close, this late. It's been great fun this year.
-
Looking like a good finish! But I'm already maxed out at 2B and MI, and more soon. Good luck in the last week!

I just hope it's close, it will be tough to overcome a 300 point deficit with less than 3 weeks to go.

3-way race to the finish, though all 3 of us seem to be slumping right now. Maybe stumbling our way to the finish.
-
Thanks Crick. I'll miss the guy.

Any contender have a use for Nolasco?
-
Very tough break, Bourn - sorry to see Harvey go down. I have him in my other league and he's been a stud.
-
I'm ok trying the allocation method too. But no strong feelings
-
Either way is fine with me, but I'm kind of intrigued by the allocation method.

Indeed - you highlight the downside of "voting off the island". You lose one player or maybe pay way more than 33 extra to keep him, or you get extra salary added. Both ways have downside
-
At least I won't get f'ed out of a guy like Trout again with allocation!
-
It means that the Puigs of the world would go from $1 to as much as $34 in their sophomore campaigns, or you get a few guys go to $10.
-
$33 is the max allocation, with $11 being the minimum (everyone must allocate at least $1 to each other team and no more than $3, with each team having $25 to allocate)
-
I know the most you can have allocated against you is $33. We did the allocation method in another league I ran last year, and that is exactly what happened. If you have 3 or 4 high value players before arbitration, they won't be after it. I guarantee.

not if we can limit the amount you can allocate

Continuing this, it also makes it nearly pointless to draft and hold rookies while they work through the minors. You pay the holding cost while they develop but the instant they pan out at all, they will be making a "fair" salary same as anyone else.

Personally, I strongly dislike the allocation method. What you end up with is a salary adjustment on every high value player in the league, leaving no super bargain guys to exist. What is the fun in that? I'd rather lose just the one.

Thoughts on method - allocation or vote off the island?
-
Are we going to do the allocation method for arbitration this year; it seems most fair...

Looking to dump salary for prospects. Sabathia, Fielder & Zimmerman can be had for any reasonable offer. Not looking to move Stanton.

Sell time for me. If you're willing and able to add JUpton, Bautista, Grienke, Heyward, Cain, etc., make me an offer. Looking for quality players (young or old) at a bargain to fair salary. Votto is probably not worth discussing.
