Yeah, that's right. Rizzo is one game away, thanks to the Cubs' unique shift which requires him to switch gloves. Not only is he about to gain 2b eligibility, he's on pace to *technically* play enough games at 2nd to qualify there next season across most every format.
-
I always thought a player had to appear at a position 10 times in one season for eligibility to kick in.
-
The idea of Anthony Rizzo being a 2B is nuts, but shouldn't he qualify there after appearing there once in 2016 and 9 times this year. That is what his player card says under "fielding" anyway... Anyone know what's up with that?

Anyone want Julio Urias? I really wanted him and think I traded too much to get him, but the Dodgers are gonna baby him, making him a better long-term asset than current one, and I need innings now.

Albuquerque Jackalopes's trade block has been updated!

It has never been much of a message-board league. The offseason and the 2nd half of the reg. season are the busiest, so I think this is just the slower time of the year.
-
I did see that article. Pretty cool. I think the inactivity is everyone getting ready for their Memorial Day weekend and a nice, peaceful escape.
-
No auctions for 3 days, and no message board posts in 2 weeks? This league is awfully quiet, especially for one shaping up to be really competitive. Did anyone else see that PseudoHitters was in the top 10 of all Ottoneu leagues in the power rankings on Rotographs?
-
Mike Leake has 240 points in 40 innings and is only $2. Who's interested?
-
Willing to move some prospects and younger guys for pitching help. If interested, please send over an offer or a message. Thank you very much.
-
Jose Reyes has really started hitting for the last 4 games now. Think it's safe for someone to start an auction for him (and lift my cap penalty, 😉)
-
Seems as though I may have gotten carried away picking up Shortstops. Will trade the flaming hot Zack Cozart or the ice cold Tim Anderson for a good RP.
-
Anyone need a backup catcher? Mesoraco will be returning in a few days, and he's my 3rd C
-
So my 2 3rd basemen have COMBINED for 6 points on the season. Seems that Gurriel may not be a legit fantasy starter (or Reyes a backup), so for those with a good 3b getting left on the bench often, hit me up.
-
Just catching up on yesterday's discussion. That was truly amazing. Mind-blowing, really. BTO's official position is that we'll be available to negotiate trades all day tomorrow.

Thank you and you do the same, kind sir.
-
Agree with you 100% Makers. Enjoy the holiday, my friend.
-
Thank you, Jackalopes and Gray. I probably do need some more co-owners for my teams. Whiffers, I am not Jewish, but if someone thought family and friends time was more important to him or her on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, I would support them fully. Holiday weekends shouldn't and don't need to divide us as the thing that should unite is spending time with family and friends. Sharing love, memories, and good times with them are the memorable things you look back on life and never forget.
-
Will we be doing this again in September for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur? Better to focus on things that unite us (baseball, for example) instead of things which divide us (religion, politics), don't you think?
-
I don't know about anyone else but now I'm tempted to update my trade block once every few hours all weekend just because ;-D
-
I greatly respect Sexy's approach on Easter and I will be doing the same, but as your Pseudohitter brother my advice Sexy is to cut down on your leagues -- moderation is good in everything, including fantasy sports!
-
I love everyone's passion but the moratorium on player transactions over Easter is unnecessary and should be each team's individual choice. Given that auctioned players play out over 48 hours and in light of the substantial likelihood that a player being waived and picked up on Easter is not going to make or break anyone's season (I've yet to see it happen in all my years), this discussion is much to do about nothing.
-
Nobody is mandated to make this accommodation. For me, I just plan to honor what I think is a sincere request that obviously matters a fair bit to Sexy. Everyone can make their own decisions, of course.
-
I would argue that since it is a no money league that we should be able to take a bit of a holiday from roster moves even more than a money league.
-
How is this a thing?

Is this really a thing? That you may miss a Tony Barnette nomination in a league with no money involved?

Thank you, Commish. I really appreciate it because if I turn off e-mail notifications, it puts me and others who are spending time away at a competitive disadvantage. It just isn't fair or friendly.
-
Or, you know, maybe he could just turn his email notifications off.

Oh, I see what you're saying. I will personally lay off doing those things on Sunday. And, I would suggest that everyone else should do their best to accommodate this request for the Sexy man if you can... Fair enough?
-
I totally agree as my lineups are already set through Monday. I was talking more about waiver auctions and trades being held off on until Monday because the e-mails you get will pull you back into fantasy baseball when you are trying to relax and spend time with family and friends. Thank you, I hope you all have a fantastic Easter and holiday weekend!
-
Guys, I don't think we should change the rules this way. If actual MLB baseball is occurring, we should earn points from our players' performance. Otherwise competition is negatively impacted. I will remind everyone, however, that lineups can be set days in advance. Consequently, if an owner sets his/her Easter Sunday lineup on Saturday evening, that owner would be locked-and-loaded and need not even glance at anything MLB or Ottoneu related. I hope you all have a nice holiday weekend.
-
I am in nine leagues. I can always use a break when there is a holiday for a bit of an escape. I think everyone in multiple leagues could use one.
-
"The pressures of fantasy baseball." LOL. I think you are just trolling me. Enjoy your Easter weekend.

I was simply asking a question about this league. It didn't just apply to Easter, but could apply to Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Flag Day (if it fell on a weekend), Labor Day, and maybe one other I am forgetting about. It's nice to spend time with your family and friends while not worrying about the pressures of fantasy baseball. But, hey, maybe that's just me.
-
MofSexy: I hesitate to open this can of worms, but, if you are being serious - what about those league members who potentially do not follow the Christian religion? Or who are Christian but don't see how fantasy baseball interferes with their ability to celebrate a holiday? If you wish to take a time out over the weekend you have every right to, but for you to just assume everyone here shares your perspective is myopic.

Quick question: does this league have a moratorium on roster changes over holiday weekends? If not, can we because Easter is about celebrating with your family and about our higher power? Fantasy baseball, at best, should be tertiary to me over the next few days. Thanks!
-
I don't know if it's the worst ever, but Jeremy Guthrie's got him beat: 5/25/2015, Royals @ Yankees - 1 IP, 9 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 1 K, 4 HR (-75.2 points). He gave up 11 ER in that game, or just one shy of the 10 ER he gave up in just 2/3 of an IP in his return to the bigs on April 5th at Philly this year (just a -22.67 outing for him there). Tough game.

Still in the market for an ace. Offering up Carlos Santana and 1-2 accompanying pieces, or Blackmon if the ace is acey enough.
