• Arbitration starts Saturday. My recollection is that we have several weeks to allocate our dollars. I think the rules section has a pretty good explanation of the process. You have $25 to allocate to players on other teams. You have to allocate at least $1 to each team and no more than $3.

• Check the cap penalties on your roster page. You have a few players you can take advantage of for this.

• We are recovering some of the cap penalty from that player. For Steven Matz, his cap penalty was 2 dollars. A month after I cut him, I put him up for auction again. I won the auction again and cut him again. Now, his cap penalty is only 1 dollar. The other dollar goes back into my salary pool. Once a player reaches a 1 dollar cap penalty, this doesn't work. The only way to recover that dollar is if the player is rostered.
