I have a conflict. I might have to look for someone to be my proxy during the draft. I'm athletic director at a small school in Alaska, and our girls just made the state tournament for basketball. This means I'll be driving 13 girls and their coaches around Anchorage from 3/13 to 3/20. I'll know more as the schedule for the week takes shape. Possibly I could sneak away for a couple hours on 3/14.

Interesting. I didn't know scoring was down this year. I go on the slack only occasionally, usually to get the crowd's opinion of a trade offer. This is the only ottoneu league I've ever been in. Thanks everyone for another good season. Arbitration will kick off on 10/15!

I’m in a “few” other leagues, and scoring is down. How far down is part of my off-season recap. I’m guessing offense will be up next year, which means scoring will up.

I'm in four other leagues, so i have a few. Scoring seemed down across Ottoneu this season; we were discussing this today in the Ottoneu Slack. Offense was down, and pitching points didn't seem to keep up since there are more hitting games than innings pitched.

Thanks guys. FIPs has won 5 of the last 6 championships, broken up in the middle by Big Science. This is only my second win in close to 10 years of Ottoneu. Do you guys have lots of teams, or just this one? I couldn't decide whether to start DeGrom against ATL with my limited innings left. Finally I was like "This is Jacob DeGrom, who else do you want pitching those innings?!?" So of course he gives up 2 HR in the first 3 innings.

I think I will just about max out my games played, other than a few in the OF, as will some of the other teams. But none of us can sniff your at bat total. I agree with you about the value of multi-position guys, to fill those holes when various guys get the day off or hit the 10 day IL or whatever. I am lacking that right now, with exactly 3 healthy MIers and 1 healthy 3b.

No big secret, just perseverance. I did a study last off-season of what was a commonality between winning teams. Getting all the games played and innings pitched. Roster construction so I always have redundant coverage. Making good use of multi-position players.

Science, I want to know how you have managed to pile up so many at bats for your hitters. You have over 300 more ABs than my team, which has the 2nd most. That's like 5% more ABs, which is huge in terms of points for your team. But I can't really see how you have done it - it's not like your roster is entirely made up of leadoff guys. Hat tip to you for whatever you're doing.

Yes! I thought my innings advantage would allow me to pull away, but I have been not been picking my starters very well. DeGrom and Gilbert both got rocked today by the lowly A's and Royals, who are 29th and 24th in runs scored. I now have only 35 extra innings to make up ground with. Yesterday, Nola had a great start but I had him benched because he was up against the Braves, one of the best hitting offenses in the game. That's baseball.

8 HR! Easy Cheese, that's pretty rough. I usually think the scoring is too strong against allowing HR, not the other way. But it also really rewards innings, just getting outs. This league looks like it's going to be super close this year. Several teams look like they have a legit chance to win.

The scoring in this league for pitching still surprises me sometimes. Two days ago I had 2 starters combine for 11 innings with 8 home runs and that was somehow only a -40.

Hey, if anyone is looking for a unique challenge, I'm looking for two more managers in an Ottoneu FanGraphs Points league where you are not allowed to roster any player who has not made his Major League debut. I will be at the draft tonight, but I will probably be about 5 minutes late. I need to drop my son off at soccer practice. You do not need to wait for me. I am fine missing out on the first couple of guys being auctioned. If anything, it will help me have more discipline and not throw all my cash at the first attractive possibility.
