This thing is awful close. Good luck to the contenders this weekend.
-
Just a friendly reminder that the trade deadline is this coming Thursday. Get those last minute deals done!
-
Well that’ll be fun to watch….
-
HOLY COW! I'm not in last anymore
-
I’m like Jeff Loria, but without the ring. I’ve still got points to sell though, so if you want to make a run for the money come see me!
-
Well that’s a trade. Going all in Brew Jays.
-
Hey all! My block has been updated and I’m in the midst of peppering the various contenders with offers. Hit me up here or @beckryac on Slack!
-
11 pitchers on IL. Somebody send help
-
Such a tough blow to lose a star hitter and pitcher for a significant time. But plenty of season left.
-
Pretty crowded at the top of the standings there. Down where we are, though, lots of room...
-
*gets one guy back from injury* *6 players get hurt on team* I guess this is how life goes
-
The start of the season is here! Woohoo! Play Ball!
-
That feeling when you have to sit AAron Nola and Dylan cease…. Loaded staff
-
Thanks, sorry about that

Reverted the correct Zac Veen to his auction salary for TWW.
-
Yeah, I've had that Veen error in a couple other Couchmanager imports. Just use your magic commish powers to make it right.
-
The Couch Managers import ended up loading the wrong Zach Veen. Ignore this new auction for the correct one, because he's destined to return to the Walking Wounded's roster at the intended $2 salary. Unless there's something else I'm missing.
-
Cool. Just making sure so I didn’t step on toes.
-
As Cincy noted, pitching in particular is an area where you'd have some wiggle room on the 22 MLB player requirement. Really, the key is that every team is making a credible effort to reach game and inning caps for each position. If that's with 10 RP or 1 RP is less crucial. You just can't lay out on fielding enough players getting MLB games and innings.
-
That is correct Jake Burger
-
Just my $0.02, but I think there should be some leeway given for the catcher and RP requirements there. There are valid strategies that involve not rostering a catcher at different points of the season (i.e. meet the cap early, or wait and roster 2 catchers late). My read on the pitcher side is that you just need to be making a good faith effort to meet the inning cap. There are going to be times where it's not worth rostering RP.
-
I haven't messed with Rosters but in respect to Pitchers, i thought it said you can Put RP in SP slot and vice versa. But you only accumlate points for SP if they start and RP if they come in relief.
-
Rule I.A. states you have to maintain a roster of at least 22 MLB players that CAN fill out a starting lineup. So you can sit all your players on a given day if you do not like their matchups. As far as keeping at least 5 RPs or 1 catcher on the roster at all times, we should probably decide if that will be enforced. I am in several other leagues, none of which enforce this rule.

Just gauging the enforcement of rules.
-
I just want to make sure I understand the rules. Do we have to have 5 players in the RP roles each day? Or do we have to have 22 players could fill each role? Can I sit a position against a bad match up or am I suppose to act as if it were a real team?
-
Okay, I think I got that sorted. Everyone can still check their rosters to make sure that they're in order, but I have closed out the auction here, and we operating in in-season mode now. Trades, cuts, and auctions should be able to proceed. Thanks everybody for a fun draft, and good luck on your seasons!
-
Rosters have been imported from Couch Managers. Unfortunately, there were three player assignments rejected due to bad data, but I don't have a log of which those were. Working on getting those identified now, but if you see before I can update, please let me know. Thanks!
-
Please check in on Couch Managers chat to let us know if you plan to continue making nominations. If few enough teams and/or only $1 bids are possible, we will enable additional nominations per remaining team so that we can close out the auction in one big wave.
-
Stuck by positional constraint on the Couch Managers site: Would anyone outbid my $1 nomination for Jorge Alcala (RP, MIN)? If not, I will add manually at $1 once results have been imported here. And if so, please nominate on Couch Managers, and I will not oppose. Thanks!
-
We are back to 8 4, perhaps for the duration. If anyone is bowing out of the draft at fewer than 40 players, please let the group know. Thanks!
-
Switched to overnight settings (12+8), perhaps for the last time in 2023?
-
8+4 settings in effect for daytime hours...
-
Back to 12+8 on the board. Will switch back at a similar time tomorrow morning.
-
Shooting to switch to 12+8 at approximately 9 PM Eastern again.
-
Updated to 8+4 settings until evening time.
-
As planned, just updated to 12+8 auction settings.
-
Feeling like we'll go to 12+8 at around 9 PM Eastern tonight, if that's good with everybody.
-
We are now back on 8+4 footing.
-
Just a heads up that I'm on the west coast and have a 6 month old, so will do my nominations first thing after I wake up - promise I'm not ignoring you guys.

Overnight update to 12 hour minimum time limit, with 8 hour extension is done. Will set back to 8+4 around 9:30 Eastern time tomorrow morning.
-
Auction currently at 3 nominations per team, with 8-hour minimum bidding and 4-hour extensions. Currently planning to update minimum bidding period to 12-hours after the close of current Tim Anderson auction (or around 9:30 Eastern if that one is extended). Will stay with 4-hour extensions and 3 noms per team until further notice. Let me know if any issues or objections on timing! We can adjust if that's going to cause anyone difficulties, or if it's just a dumb plan.
-
In those cases, managers would then be able to resume with standard 48-hour free agent auctions on the main Ottoneu site. This is a regular procedure on live Ottoneu auctions, so not unusual here. It's not fair to other managers to ice your noms/money waiting out everyone else's. If there are any issues in progress or known in advance, let us know and we'll give you a pass (though you would need to be absent of bidding as well during that time). Thanks!
-
Highlights from Couch Managers chat today: we will be enforcing required nominations. If you can bid, you can nominate, so if we get to the point where bids are being made with stale noms in queues, action will be taken. Notice will be posted on CM chat and here that nominations are due, and everyone can hopefully respond. For example, if you don't think you will use all 40 spots, that would merit an extension. If there is no response, we will boot (CM's term!) that team.
-
A well-oiled machine right now. Keep up the fantastic work everybody!
-
Everybody’s doing great so far, no need to sweat it too much!
-
12 hour window is meant to keep live overnight, so Cincy is correct that I have not been planning to pause. For the extensions, it’s not any bid that will trigger the extend, just new top bids, that have exceeded to current leaser’s max bid. (If you don’t beat their max bid, it won’t extend. just update to the new value.) Also with extensions, it resets +8 hours from whatever the timer is, so extending with 20 minutes left will add more time than if there were 6 hours.
-
That’s right on the 8 hour reset. If a new high bid comes in and there are less than 8 hours then the timer resets to 8. I’ll let the commish speak to this, but we don’t usually stop the timer in my other slow auctions.
-
How does the 8 hour extension window work? Is it that there's 12 hours on the timer when a new auction starts; after the first 4 hours any new bids will reset the timer to 8 hours? Or something else?
Around what time are you planning on pausing the timer at night?
-
We are into the 8 hour extension window for most of the active auctions. You are of course allowed to increase bids anywhere you want to, just be aware that the later extensions get, the longer it will take to get new noms up. Please try to log in at least once by midday each day, so that we don't get late-breaking extensions, and have a chance to open new auctions before bedtime each night. Thanks!
-
Auction is live, nominations and bidding are open! Going to be a fun week, have at it.
