• 2) the roster structure was created to look similar to what an MLB GM/Manager have to handle -40 man rosters including your top prospects, plus a starting lineup similar to what an MLB team has on their 25 (though only 5 RP instead of the 7-8 most teams carry).

• 1) that is right - for pitchers, you only get credit for their stats if they are in your lineup in the spot they are used in the game. So if you have a SP going, he has to be in a SP (and not a RP) slot. if a pitcher enters as a RP and you have him in a SP slot, his stats don't count either.
