You can trade $ between owners to raise the cap in the middle of the season, but it goes away at the end of the year and you have to get back below $400 for the next season (this is more of an in-season thing)

I would say, just read the constitution on the support page carefully. I'll answer any questions honestly. Realize the $400 cap is for the entire season (incl. Free Agents in-season), so you likely don't want to spend all your money at the draft.

(finishing) commonly ignored? Many of you have made mention of this in previous posts. Of course, I do realize that experienced players may be reluctant to do so seeing how a) experience is a distinct competitive advantage b) this is a league for money.
-
Like me, I assume most of us newbies are perennial fantasy baseball consumers, but are simply new to the nuances of ottoneu. Could some of you who have participated previously educate us neophytes on some of the mistakes you have made or rules that are co

It seems as if everyone is on board for the wkd draft except Madison Square, correct? I think our only option are A) have that person figure a way to make it (seems unlikely) B) have someone else draft for them or C) get a refund and we find another owner
-
I guess options are we hope we can finish this weekend.
-
I'm not going to do the silent auction process in a league for money either... i just did that in a free league and it was utter disaster for all parties involved. It can work to fill a bench, but not for starters.

It can physically be done, but that sorta defeats the purpose if you are missing an owner. I think we already had one owner that couldn't do Wed. night and I can't do Thurs. night so I'm not sure what the options are

Also, I'd like to second DSb's point about bidding etiquette. Waiting until the last second only makes the draft take longer. So, when avoidable, don't wait to bid.
-
I'm still good with Sat/Sun. I could do Wed or Thurs evenings. Would it be possible to start the draft tomorrow (3/30) night so that we finish for sure this weekend? Missing a full week of the season would be no bueno.
-
DSB? I think there is no way to do the auction without your participation. Any suggestions?
-
Dave stewarts balls... I second that, I joined a regular league to get a feel for it and have already made numerous mistakes.
-
If we set some auction ground rules it will go faster - I advise setting up a nomination queue in the auction room in advance and playin around with the interface (it is live) and don't wait until the last second every time to bid - it adds A LOT of time.

We can either go sunday 10am until its done or go to silent auction. After 6 hours of drafting I perfer silent auction.

I'm a member of the original Ottoneu league and have been playing 4x4 style for 5 years now, so know it inside and out (although have never done a points league - so I'm at no advantage!) - happy to act as a resource for all of you guys

FWIW - now that we have a full league, I'd highly recommend reading the rules and consistitution to make sure you fully understand the subtleties of this game - this includes how the budget works, cutting players, etc.

Dykstra - you in Hawaii? Uber - I'm fine setting these two periods, but I can tell you we'll still need more time... it will probably be 8 hours to do a full draft

Can we set the draft now? We have tried to take into account everyones schedule as best we can.

I cannot start an hour earlier on Sunday - 10AM is already 6AM on Monday morning where I'm living right now.
-
Full league! So what is the plan? 2PM PT/5PM ET Sat. 10AM PT/1PM ET Sun.? I'm up for that though I still think we'll need another hour or two. Can we start Sun. an hour earlier?

Let's stick with the Sat/Sun draft. We need little bit of consistency for the people that have joined.
-
any of the times metioned work for me
-
I can't do Wednesday night but am available for the weekend or Thursday night.
-
I could do the Sat/Sun plan. Could possibly do Wed. night, but depends what time we start

I would also prefer to begin Wednesday evening, but the Sat/Sun plan also works
-
I am open Wed evening and the two sessions mentioned for Sat and Sun work for me as well.
-
If we do it on Sunday, we'll have to do it really early like 10am pacific time... How about we do this 2pm- 5pm on saturday and 10am-1pm on Sunday?
-
I'm also open all day Sunday and vote that we start as early as possible to eliminate any of the aforementioned problems.
-
I'm open all day Sun
-
I cam do the 2pm pacific btw, but curious about sunday as well if that is when we would need to finish. I can't do from 6-9pm est on sunday, but am otherwise open.

Just curious, what is our plan for finishing the auction though? We will need more than those 3 hours on Saturday and I don't want us to have to do blind auctions to finish the auction.. i'm in another league doing that and it is a disaster

I'm fine with 2pm pacific on Saturday.

Anyone oppossed to moving it to 2pm pacific for fake chow?

Anytime Sat/Sun works for me.

Sat 3pm pacific works for me

I'd prefer a bit earlier on Sat, if possible. I need to be somewhere at 8PM Eastern that night.
-
that would be Sat 3pm Pacific time
-
I'm ok with Saturday at 3.
-
I can do a weekday draft... but I dont think we'll have enough gms that day, and/or wouldn't lose gms we already have. I'm going to nominate Saturday at 3pm for the draft date. Let me know what you guys prefer.
-
I think we will need to break the draft up into two sessions. Can everyone do a few hours on Sat and a few on Sunday evening? Seems to be our best bet. We only need 5 more owners...
-
re: the draft - i'd prefer to get it done before the weekend, if possible. also, will the league move forward with fewer than 12 teams?
-
hello all - i have a few more buddies (possibly two) who are interested in joining. the saturday draft works, but i could also do other days. looking forward to the season
-
whoa, apologies for the duplicate post. I simply hit refresh to see if there was further discussion
-
My friend would join if the draft is held before Thursday
-
I agree with Uber in that we could set our season to start on next Monday, eliminating just the first few days. Too bad Dykstra's buddy can't wait. Either way, I'm in.
-
I'm not quite sure where we'll find the 8 hours necessary to draft by thursday....
