📣 ANNOUNCEMENT 📣
The MiLB Roster Sheet and Restricted List have been updated following the conclusion of the draft.
Please let me know if you encounter any errors (https://sites.google.com/view/ltkp1348/home).
Thanks for drafting and good luck to everyone except St. Francis during the final leg of the season!
📣 END OF ANNOUNCEMENT 📣
-
Carson Whisenhunt (SFG) has been added to I’d Check You for Pine Tar for $1 upon request.
-
CARDINALS, you are now up for the final pick of the draft.
-
Troy Melton has been added to It's Real Velour for $1
-
Our MiLB system messes with the dynamics of the economy a bit, and that is in our control. If there are ways we can better set up MiLB rules for long term parity, I am all ears.
-
I don’t believe it is a setting we can change. For what it’s worth, I think the ability to go over the cap with the loan system is one of the better features for league parity for the same reason Olneyville sent out those trade offers. Without it, sellers would have no one to sell to, and buyers wouldn’t give up valuable controllable players.
-
Big Papi are you on the side of the owners? In favor of a hard salary cap, I personally hope a soft salary cap gets implemented but billionaires keep billionairing? 😃
I personally enjoy the current format, lends itself to the real MLB. If the real MLB rules ever change then perhaps Ottoneu should consider adjusting. Plus in my eyes cost of a player doesn't always = talent.
Overall though these are interesting perspectives to consider.
-
To give this discussion some perspective, since I have little chance of finishing in the money, I have been offering my two highest priced player to four teams in the running over the last couple of weeks. Every contender had a chance to improve themselves
-
I obviously like the practice of loaning money. It allows me to trade high priced players, dump salary and get some cheap, potential in return
-
this is why I am leaving Ottoneu. this loaning money to nullify the cap is crazy. why have a cap? I don't think you can change it, though.

How can we blame either team trading, the receiving team gets good players and the loan to go with it (usually not giving high value players in return) and the other team ''cutting'' players with high salary and getting something in return instead of cutting them just to get under cap and getting nothing. Nobody is to blame, the only way to resolve this ia hard cap of 450-475 for everyone. Food for taught
-
I assure you Saint Francis, no feathers ruffled by you specifically. It's a general feeling for my part with some large salary caps in some leagues, yours just happened to be on the screen when I voiced this. This league is one of the best I've been in (not for my success, being last since I entered the league) but by the way you and Glendale Human beigns manage it. I've been voicing it in some leagues, but not much feedback. Maybe a 450-475 maximum cap would do the trick.
-
Thanks for voicing this Big Papi. I’m a little surprised by your comment. I’m not trying to ruffle any feathers.
I’ve accepted trades sent my way the past two weeks and am eating high salary players underperforming this year (all of whom I’ll have to drop at end of year) in exchange for young, cheap talent (who won’t have to be dropped due to salary for years). If the league wants to vote on a salary cap other than the $400, we can open it up.
-
I can see why you're in 1st place St-Francis with a 557$ cap, I've always been against the going over cap tolerated in Ottoneu. Not to descredit you because I know you know your baseball, but it's easier when you can buy players you couldn't really afford if salary cap was respected. Just wanted to voice my opinion, I know I can do the same but IMO we shouldn't in all the Ottoneu leagues, I've seen 750$ caps that's ridiculous
-
Brandyn Garcia (SEA) has been added to Big Papi memories for $1.
-
Wikelman Gonzalez (CHW) has been auto-called up for $2 and auto-cut after post-debut window closed, incurring $1 cap penalty. Big Papi memories will receive compensation pick at the end of the ongoing MiLB draft because this window closed prior to the draft's start. We will use this decision to set league precedent going forward.
-
Kaelen Culpepper has been removed (no cap penalty) from Hits and Giggles
-
Since Whitcomb has debuted, he’s ineligible, but Carter Jensen is eligible, so I’ve selected him for you on the board.
-
Shay Whitcomb, SS from Houston, if taken or can't be drafted, I'll take Carter Jensen, C from KC
-
Note: Kaelen Culpepper is not able to be auctioned until the conclusion of the slow draft. After conclusion of the auction, he will need to be removed from winning manager’s roster by commissioner action (with no penalty cap).
-
Just a note that these matchups extend through next week!
-
Olneyville takes George Lombard, NYY
-
Thank you for catching that, I’ve deleted him off the list (he is on Hits and Gigs roster)
-
Condon was listed as eligible on the draft sheet
-
Papi and Olneyville: those two are ineligible (Jones has been rostered this year and Condon is currently rostered on another team).
-
I’m not able to access the draft board. Olneyville selects Charlie Condon, 1B COL
-
Big Papi selects Spencer Jones, OF from NYY
-
