Looks like our divisions reset after the keeper deadline. I'll come up with a poll in the next week to help set our auction date.
-
Biggest FA stars available look like Harper, Goldy, Abreu, Encarnacion, Kershaw, Price. In other words, looking pretty thin...

I have cap space to take on some last minute big contracts

If you have a high-dollar hitting star you might not want to keep, take a look at my roster and make me an offer. Any position works for me.
-
Deadline day note: I usually leave things literally to the last minute, but I have to get up at 4:00am tomorrow. So please try to get any last minute trade offers in my hands by 8pm ET.

would love to unload one of arenado, machado, correa, or cruz to alleviate cap space. a decent-but-cost-effective 2B, 3B, OF, or SP would be nice.
-
This is a reminder that the keeper deadline is tomorrow at 11:59 p.m. EST. Please make your necessary cuts, if you haven't already.
-
I could use another OF or SS if anyone is moving pieces before the deadline. Have the most depth at SP probably.

Remember that cuts must be done at the month's end. The trading window then will be closed until after the auction, so get your last-minute roster moves done.

Looking to package Valera, Pache, Bart, and Madrigal for one cheap position player. No 3B please, I'm full up on those.

There's no vote on it. It's within the ottoneu lineup, in every league. Niv says in the update that there is a toggle for owners to turn off/on. No issue for you.
-
Uh, I use benched players intentionally with some frequency in this format. At least 50 times a season. So unless there's a toggle to turn it off, I vote against.

I love auto-eject, but since we no longer have game caps for positional players, it's not a big deal for H2H. For all other ottoneu league, this is a great add to the game. We will keep our SP GS cap as it is. I think it worked well last season.
-
I really like the auto-eject, especially for day games. We'll see how it works in practice.
I assume we're keeping the SP cap the same as last season? Or do we want to annoy Brad and lower it to say... 5?

The auto-eject option seems great. It appears, then, that the big H2H change for us is no positional caps on games played?

I'll put together a draft poll in the next week or so. As most of you know, we've generally done the draft late during a weeknight. As an FYL: Last year, the draft was at 9 p.m. EST on Feb. 27. Also remember that the keeper deadline is Jan. 31. Make trades between now and then, and have a great rest of your month.

Oscar Charleston Division: Hand, Context, Lucky, Bears
-
Buck Leonard Division: Perm, Greasy, Team To Be, Marctinis
-
Satchel Paige Division Geese, Ozuna, Pollock, Overlord
-
3. Context (consolation bracket, third or fourth place) Hand (consolation bracket, third or fourth place) Lucky (Best non-playoff team) Bears (10th place)
-
The divisions have been reassigned, but they won't show up on the site until the records and points reset. As I've posted before, here are the divisions: 1. Champion (Geese/Perm) Ozuna (Record, tie-breaker: fewest points for non-second-round playoff team) Pollock Overlord (12th place) 2. Runner-up (Geese/Perm) Greasy (Record, tie-breaker: most points for non-second-round playoff team) Team To Be Marctinis (11th place)
-
Looking to trade pitching (SP) for MI, if available.

Trying to get these new divisions together, but ottoneu is acting up. I'll work on this. Look way below on this message board to see the new alignment.

I'm in the process of realigning divisions. Ottoneu bumped Team To Be Named Later, so I'm asking Niv to add them to their new division.
-
I think we might have a new owner for Baby Bears: FG contributor Jake Mailhot.
-
Vibber, AKA Baby Bears, is not returning for the 2020 season. I'm certain that we will all miss him. Can folks here put out a call for a new owner? I'd like to have a new owner make arb/cut decisions for the team. Is there a RG writer who would like to own a team in one of the longest-running ottoneu leagues? Let me know.
-
Congrats Geese!
-
Great job to the Geese. Congrats to everyone on a fantastic season. I'll make division changes once ottoneu allows it on my commish access. I think trades are allowed beginning on Monday. I'll update you in the offseason on everything else we'll need for 2020.
-
Congrats to Geese on a fine season and hard fought championship season

I think MLB and the courts' rulings are good enough for me, without taking an extra step of us placing guys on restricted lists. If folks want to chime in support of your proposal, then that's fine. I also could argue that a player who gets a DUI is a threat to society because that player could have killed someone. Should we also restrict that player?
-
I'd be perfectly OK with Chapman being on a restricted list. The Vazquez story is just so pernicious that it really made me think about things, including Chapman. It can be as simple as "If Player A is suspended by MLB for domestic abuse or sexual assault said player is ineligible for this league". It's a very clear line and not a very ambiguous one. This would then include Chapman, Osuna and Vazquez and perhaps others that I've forgotten about.
-
It's a slope. It's not much of a leap to say, "We put player X on a restricted list, so why shouldn't we put players Y and Z on a restricted list, because they are also bad people?" For you, having sex with a underaged teenager should put a player on a restricted list, but firing a weapon into a wall and threatening a woman's life is not? Again, I think morons like Vazquez will put themselves out of work. If you don't like the player as a human, don't roster him (as I have).
-
There's no parallel between Bonds/Clemens and Vazquez/Osuna or even Chapman and no slope, no matter how slippery, gets you there. You make a very fair point about Chapman and I honestly don't have a good answer. To be brutally honest, it wasn't top of mind for me.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Vazquez is back on a major league roster within a few years, if not sooner. The list of pro players who have come back from serious allegations is a long one.
-
I agree with the Geese. Bad people often put themselves out of jobs when they do bad things.
-
I just remembered that you have Aroldis Chapman on your roster. You traded for him this season.
-
If all this is true, and it seems highly highly likely that it is, Vazquez will have a very difficult time playing baseball from his jail cell. At that point, I suspect removing him is a given.
-
I appreciate your feelings on the matter, though I think it winds up being a slippery slope. If we include horrible people like Vazquez, we're opening things up later for Barry Bonds/Roger Clemens debates. What do we do with Aroldis Chapman, who wasn't arrested or charged? Allegedly terrible people, like Vazquez, will put themselves out of work on their own. I don't roster one particular player because he said racist crap to me in an interview. If you don't want a player, don't roster him.
-
Something like that. Obviously would depend on each case. I'm not one to rush to judgement, but I'd be much happier if we simply removed Felipe Vazquez from our game.
