Definitely seems like group consensus is to take it slow, and get started in enough time so the Tokyo series counts. I would get it started soon, but Couch Managers (the favored platform for slow drafts) is currently undergoing a server upgrade -- there was a crash this past weekend, one current league I'm in has our Draft suspended atm. So I am gonna wait a day or 2 to see how it goes after we restart that one.

Hey everyone, let's talk draft! The March 9 date was just a placeholder while we worked to find new managers, I'm not sure that works for everyone. Given that we have managers dispersed in several time zones around the globe, and that we're just over two weeks away from the opening series in Japan, we're planning to do a slow draft on couch managers. Would starting later this week or this weekend work for everyone? We'll get details out soon, so speak up ASAP if you have questions or concerns.

No clue. Here is my plea I am posting in my other leagues: The league I mentioned before is still struggling to finds owners. We unlocked teams, so owners can just grab them. The regular season winning team is still available and several other good teams open. Just bad luck that a bunch of teams left. It is a great league. $100 buy-in, $75 side pot. Update on League 1043 -- we're struggling! There seem to be 4-5 vacant teams still.. Ben (PoopPotato) came over from there, and he's still in 1043 (virtually the same format as here). Hey Ben, how did this league get filled while the other one didn't? I guess it's down to making the League public? Or was it pure happenstance ...

When you go to the claim a team button on the dashboard, and then the team is locked on the list, you have to email the commissioner for the password. If it is unlocked, you can just claim the team right away. I actually think this might be a little bit of a barrier to people taking the teams.

And to address Big Dumper & The Funky Bunch's question, no cuts are allowed until after the draft. The exception is for the new managers taking over teams that did not make cuts before the deadline--that's why you saw cuts from Café 80s last night. Wacky Wombats will also get one round of penalty-free cuts to get legal once we have a new manager in place.

I tentatively moved the draft date from the default (2/1 @ 7) to (3/9 @ 7) to give us time to find new managers. We’ll adjust this and establish draft plans once the league is full again.

Hey all,
Nope, not drafting tonight. Draft plans are still TBD—given the geographic distribution with teams around the global, a slow draft may be best. In the meantime, we had a team drop out late last night due to personal reasons, and another team did not renew or make cuts. I’ve reached out to the second manager, but we need at least one new manager before we can schedule the draft. Please let me or A Risible Dirigible 🍄 know if you have anyone who might be interested.

well, having only been on the other side of that, I realize we should've kept the teams locked til we had 5 willing to play. But that could still take a couple weeks or who knows. So I'd say it's up to you -- if you're happy with the rosters, and not tempted by the pool that's out there -- just manage that roster. Or you can wait (I think we'll get another 1-2 soon enough)

Happy New Year Home Stealers! OK so we have 3 teams abandoned, let us know if you have any potential recruits. The most attractive way to sell it I think is to have a Dispersal Draft with those 3 teams rosters, once we have 3 new owners. Lots of good pieces on those teams!

I have been paid now.

I am the 1 guy that did not get paid. I am not exactly sure what the confusion was, but I responded to Dot 99 (Dave) within a few minutes of him posting the message below to resolve the issue. I have sent several follow-up messages to him with no response and as of this point I have still not been paid.
