I traded for Trout on August 11, 2015 and he has been on my roster ever since. With the news today that he's out for the year, probably time to say goodbye. Sort of feel like it deserves a press conference or something...Has anyone else had a player on their roster for the last 10 seasons?
-
Everyone has paid. This year we are gonna keep the same payouts as last year. $700/$300/$200 Best of luck all!
-
I'm down to 4 left to pay. 2 days left til opening day!
-
I have received payment from 4/12 teams (Ground Control, East Coast BIas, Otto-Nudes). Please get this to me by Thursday (opening day). $100 to me at venmo @Derek-Ouren
-
Friendly reminder that we have the draft Saturday night at 8pm Eastern. 2/3 daughter compete in a dance competition all weekend so I will be drafting from my phone or somewhere in northern Minnesota. I might have someone be a co-commish in case anything goes on the draft in case I get busy or thrown somewhere by my wife. Thanks guys and hoping Saturday goes smoothly.

By my count: Ground Control/ECB/Otto-Nudes/Barney Tater votes yes (4), Moneyball/Peter Brand/LFP's/Generous Carriage/Marcell Ozuna/Droids/Squints votes no(7). Scoop didn't vote. I would say we need at least the majority to vote and we are not getting that this year. Send me your league fee of $100 sometime before opening day. This weekend I can take them too. I like having all the fees by opening day so we have no funny stuff... venmo: Derek-Ouren

I'll throw it out to everyone. First $150. Ground Control and East Coast Bias are Yes. Generous Carriage No. 2-1 in favor. Post your vote on here.
-
Could we vote on increasing the league fee?
-
I'm content with $100, but if the majority wants it, then I think that's fair.
-
I would be good with it.
-
Any thought of increasing buy in to $150 or $200? And still keeping 3rd place only getting their money back. I'd like to see the top 1-2 teams really be rewarded for team building year over year.
-
I've heard no "no's" so I'm setting it for the 16th of March. Right now I'll set it for 8pm eastern time. We can adjust that as we get closer. With people on the west coast, east coast, Africa, and Korea, I hope everyone understands everyone or most are going to have to compromise on times. It's a really cool thing to have everyone spread out, but it does bring logistical issues into play on picking time. Thanks guys.

3/16 works for me - I'm on the east coast, and prefer something early evening - but whatever works for everyone.

I’ll make whatever work. But I would prefer closer to evening EST time. Like at least 5:00 pm. I am like 14 hrs ahead of EST.

Good with March 16th also.

Seems to me this was an honest and understandable mistake by Ground Control and a reasonable solution from Generous Carriage. No complaints from me about any of it. March 16 is cool with me. Really looking forward to another season with y'all -- I'm glad we've been able to keep this league going.
-
I think we just keep it simple and how we do it. Ground Control made a mistake. I granted the free cut, lets move forward. Draft date options: About 4-5 of us are in another league together and are drafting Friday, March 15th at night. According to our draft availability form, the next night the 16th works best for those 5 guys involved. Figured I would start there asking does Saturday March 16th at night not work for anyone?
-
Agree with ECB - I don't think it's really that big a deal and allowing for an additional cut seems to add unnecessarily complications.

Love that idea Droids. But my 2 cents is that we try to avoid anything that creates more stuff for the commish to keep track of outside of the built-in rules, since that job is already difficult enough. Of course open to whatever the majority (and commish) think. -ECB
-
Possible solution to situations like this. I always thought it would be beneficial to allow each team to have the option to cut one player before the draft. This covers any major injuries, suspensions etc during spring training.
-
No excuses from me, I apologize to everyone. As the commish said, I didn’t know that I needed $1 for every roster spot. That hasn’t been an issue for me in my six years in the league, obviously I should have read the rules. Hopefully you all can tell that I know to drop players when it’s allowed in the offseason as I was the first one to do so. And the issue was remedied immediately after the deadline. Again, I apologize, it was an honest mistake.
-
I have gotten a couple questions about me dropping Manny Machado for Ground Control. He told me he didn't know the rule about having to have enough spots with at least having that amount of money, so his team was deemed illegal. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and dropped Manny Machado. I felt losing Machado who is a really good player was enough and am trusting him that he said he didn't know that rule. I'll take the heat if anyone is really upset.

Reminder: cuts and paying Ottoneu fee due by 1159 tonight.
-
2 friendly reminders that need to be done by January 31st. 1.) Renew your team. It looks like you can do it view credit card now for an option. 2.) Cut who you want off your roster without penalization for cutting. After January 31st, you lose cap room for cutting.
-
Everyone completed arbitration. The next step will be cuts in January. I’ll send reminders when we get there. Thanks again for a good year and we should have another fun year next year with everyone back. Thanks guys.
-
About two weeks left to allocate money in arbitration. Half the league has completed it. I hope everyone can get it done.

I have heard nothing back from anyone so I'm assuming everyone is still in for next year. My biggest push will be making sure everyone does arbitration this year. It was not fun going in and manually doing it last year. You have 1 month to get this done. It's due Nov 14. I'll send periodical reminders. I apologize now if you will get sick of it, but please do this. It helps keep the league competitive which I think is what makes it great.

Congrats on the impressive season Ground Control. You were in first for over 80% of the season. Including nearly the last 3 months.

The winners are all paid. Again let me know by the end of the week if you are out. I assume all are in until I hear otherwise. I'll remind everyone in a couple weeks about arbitration. GO TWINS!!!!
-
Much like the Houston Astros, for whom my team is named, Jeff Luhnow took over in 2012 and built a champion in 6 years, I took over in 2018 and accomplished the same. The next thing that awaits me is a major cheating scandal…so look out for that one. Thank you all for the well wishes and I look forward to next season.

Thanks for running the league again this season! I am in for next season! Congrats on the season Ground Control! Very impressive year and team :).

Congrats Ground Control - Well done. And thanks commish for being on top of everything. For what it's worth, I am definitely interested in running it back next season if there is enough interest from everyone else. -ECB

Congrats to Ground Control on winning the league. I will be sending out money tomorrow when I know there isn't any stat corrections, especially for 2nd. These are the payouts I had during the pre-season: $700/$300/$200. If it is a tie at 75 pts for 2nd, I will send each guy $250 for 2nd.
Good year. I would like anyone that is thinking of being done to let me know in the next week of your intentions. You can do this privately if you wish. Otherwise I'll send out a reminder for allocat
-
My apologies guys it looks like I am going to come up a few innings short on my IP to qualify. Was diligently trying to get there but had some SPs just completely flake on me.
-
Reminder I would like everyone's payment by Friday-ish. I have 5/12 teams that have paid. Thanks!
-
Just paid. Thanks for coordinating Derek. I like the Top 3 only payout plan. Happy Opening Day everyone.
-
Opening day tomorrow brings up making sure we are on the same page financially. We do a pool of $100. Last year I think we came to the conclusion that top 3 should only be getting paid with a $700/$300/$200 breakdown on payouts. Unless I hear a huge disagreement, I think we do that. Also, venmo me @Derek-Ouren by April 7th. Thanks guys and good luck this year.
-
Thanks for the thread and the hard work derek! I didnt realize we were shooting for such a late time. I probably wont be able participate for long. Thanks!
-
Yes. Friday at 9:30pm central. I heard nothing negative about that so lets just get it done. We don't have a crazy amount of FA so I think it will go fairly smoothly. I should be able to run the draft room cause I don't think I have to go to a dance competition that night for my daughter. If I do, LFP's will have commish rights to help run the room and I can still bid, just not keep track of everything. See you guys tomorrow night.
