Just if anyone is interested I'm going to be creating an Ottoneu Fantasy Football league. Will be $50 buy-in and full PPR. One flex.

Thank you very much for joining! As you can see has been a fun couple days like you say haha. Will certainly enjoy the fringe. I must admit not sure what to do about cash as never been in a position like this.
-
Thanks commish for sorting out - enjoy the fringe!
-
Welcome Vizzini - thanks for jumping in!
-
Good morning. Been a fun couple of days for y'all, huh? I claimed Chill and promise no drama :).
-
I think the question now becomes what to do if that team is in the cash?
-
Thanks for everyone’s patience. Players have been added with their respective salaries. Will now abandon the team. Can’t imagine we will be waiting too long for that team to be claimed!
-
Having to add players on phone which will take time but once team is back to what it was I’ll mark team as abandoned so it can be claimed.
-
Apologies I was sleeping and I am at the Edinburgh Festival this week so won't be as responsive. Columbus owner has been removed and I will put all those cut players back on that roster. Like was discussed those waivers should not run as much as I'd like to grab a few of those players being lower in the league.
-
FWIW I posted the trade on the Otteneu slack channel and there was six comments and lots of up votes unanimously agreeing it was not close to being a veto-able trade.
-
Guess Columbus wasn't so chill after all 😅
I'd suggest commish return all players, let the team run and any money won gets split between the league for next year's buy ins. Definitely can't have claims on these, that would be ridiculous.
-
Yes I think common practice is to reverse the cuts and have the players still on the team for the new owner to decide.

nope
-
Anyone here familiar with the commish tools?
-
seems like a good plan
-
Anyways, I'm leaving my waiver claims in and see what happens (league decisions)
-
I would agree if we are sure Colombus drops out of league, I didn't undestand that in his last post, focus 2023 in this league ?
-
The best way forward in my mind would be to kick Columbus from the league. Have someone take over his team with all of the players the current guy put on waivers back on his roster. Really can't have those waivers run.
Would certainly ask Niv too. I'll post about it on the community forum.
-
As much as I would like to have have first crack at Columbus’ entire team, I think standard practice is to reverse the drops for the new owner.
-
WTF, don't know what to do exactly, I guess we have to pick up these waivers and see what Commish and owners decide. Sad to see this happen in a league.
-
Commish probably asleep in his weird Scottish time zone but there’s got to be action because of that

In all seriousness, that's probably a perma ban for Columbus. Sad to see.
-
Oh very nice Columbus. I’m guessing it’s a free for all on waivers now huh?

Wait I would have traded you Melendez for those guys
-
Since we are allowed to manage our rosters as we see fit ... I am focusing my efforts on 2023.
-
I can’t 😂 I just can’t.

Can we get everyone's commentary on the trade Sockem and I just made too?
-
I’m done talking about this trade, whatever happens happens. I never had to justify a trade I’ve made in any of my other leagues. Kinda ridiculous . Making trades is part of the fun.

A simulator good be a useful tool to reference especially if your a novice. Again, that simulator does not take into consideration league settings, dynasty, nor salaries. Those variables could offer different results.

That "neutral" evaluation is not for dynasty so of course it will be one sided for this season hahaha

Have given
-
And you have the other team over 10 pct of your cap on top of that.
-
Brue Freres ... Here is a neutral evaluation of the crap you got back. Luciano's ETA isn't until 2024
https://www.fantasysp.com/trade/mlb/21160201/woodruff-gray-baz-iglesias-luciano
The simulator shows it as ridiculously one-sided.
-
Wining formula or it would be too easy. It also should be fun of course.

Honestly, I’m my opinion, your walking a fine line if you veto a trade. Outside of proven collusion vetoing a trade is quite difficult. First off, it’s very subjective. People value players differently and there’s is also different ways to build a winning team/ managers have different strategies. You also have to take in consideration if the team is rebuilding. Also, a team trading away assets to make a push for first has to be looked at too. One person does not have the magical

I agree with the commish and Big Papi. As people vote, I would suggest that the threshold for vetoing should be higher than preferring one side of the trade to the other. I think the discussion so far suggests that there are arguments for both sides of the trade, even if you don’t agree with them. I don’t think collusion is involved. I have my own opinions on pretty much every move, but it’s important that everyone be able to manage their team (outside of collusion, etc.).

How is getting two top prospects “crap”?

I’m happy we can have a discussion about it. Just to reiterate think fairest thing is to ask everyone to vote on the trade please. Like Papi says this is a game and not to sound too corny but we want this to be enjoyable experience for everyone.

After reading all the posts, I think it'a good trade considering Woodruff was at 40$. I think Columbus didn't like his pursuant getting two good pitchers in contention race and it's easy to understand, I had the same situation in another league where I'm in 1st place and 2nd place got a sh....load of good players in a trade, I had to bit the bullitt. This is a game and yes there is little money involved, but we must continue to have fun with it. I like Royale's post on Aug 11 at 3:33
-
Brue Freres ... You gave $12 in cap space + players ... To get back crap.
Relievers aren't needle movers to get to 18,000 pts ... And rarely retain value for long, anyway.
Doing nothing, cutting Woodruff and putting the Woodruff $ to work on over performers/future value in re-draft ... Much better range of positive outcomes for you in 2023.
No balance to this trade. At all.
-
Honestly curious what you'd do if you were me Columbus. Would you just hold on to Woodruff with a $40 salary or maybe take a trade that might not be perfect but gives you some good prospects and a reliable RP? It's easy to criticize when you're top. I'm trying to get my team ready for next year. As I've said happy to show off all my rejected and cancelled trades to show how I've been trying to offload Woodruff.
