Well damn, I thought I was out of it. I cut enough for the team faab but not enough to get out of that $1 dollar per roster player rule, that I apparently forgotten about until right now.... Thanks for the heads up. I had to go back to work at lunch and didn't see I was still in the red... Gah. I'll fix that by tonight (somehow hehe) once I'm off the clock again.

Who knew Kyle Finnegan would be so popular? I know literally nothing about him and had never heard of him prior to Brad Hand being traded. But he might be a closer for a bad team so...BREAK the bank!

So do you think I can sue the Dodgers for stealing my ideas. I mean it's bad enough trading for Turner when you already have a Allstar SS on the roster, but also trading for multiple quality SP when your rotation is already full and pretty good. Not to mention trading away all your top prospects because you know you'll just get more. Gotta be worth a call to the lawyers, right?

In CBS i can change rosters and set rosters back to any week previous. Its not easy but its doable.

I also believe CBS commish's can change locked rosters (John?) This is not an option in Ottoneu.

So... CBS is just before the first game of the week. I checked our rules and it talks about a day of the week set by the commish. Hmmm. Checked our league config and it says Monday. I assumed it was 5 minutes before a game Monday (or later in the week if no games on Monday.) I have no idea what time rosters lock on a Monday when there is no game. I'll try to find out. Sorry abut that. i usually do a roster setup on Sunday and then review on game day. I guess I won't be making changes either.

No stats were updated from last night's game but I agree it's very odd they lock rosters before the AS game and not the first game back from the break... Doesn't really make sense but I suspect this is something on their side and isn't configurable. Aka not much we can do, even if it doesn't really make sense.

I was wondering that, too....Although it doesn't really affect my extremely competitive team, it still seems very lame on Ottoneu's part to count the ASG as the first game of the week (unless stats also somehow counted for the game? Didn't verify that)

Why are the rosters already "locked down" for the week?
Is this an error?
I thought the rule was "All players lock 5 minutes before the first game of the week".

Maybe you guys know this, but I just found this on the weekend. If you click on Bid in the Auction window you get a list of all completed auctions. If you click on the date of an auction, you will see who the nominator was and all the bids. Navigation on this site is generally pretty good, but I keep finding new surprises.

There’s a long way to go. I had a pretty good draft (some planning, a lot of luck), the wire has been pretty good to me, and overall, things have gone my way (Reds breakouts, Gausman, and manageable injuries.) I may have two players in jail by the end of the season so we’ll see how that goes! Dropping Conforto was a bonehead move, but trying to overcome that.

Man Brad, how does it feel to be the King of Ottoneu? Build a contending team, with future and prospects, and leaving enough money to sign the players the rest of us were forced to drop because we didn't plan well enough. I am in awe. Great work.

Bob didn't put him out, he's the one who dropped him. Someone did him a favour by putting him up early. He's now gonna gain a much needed $7 on his cap. We are all learning this together. That's actually the fun part.

Hey Darryl. No need to be sorry man. You are a deep thinker. I read and re-read your message several times and just could not figure it out. I even read between the lines and nothing made sense. The thing about this league...we all came in with no idea how it worked. We (presumably) all made mistakes. Also wondering...how do you know it was Bob that put Fried out?? I thought it was done anonomously?

So at the start of the year, I had no idea what I was doing, and used up all my cap space. Eloy got injured and I was forced to drop him. Because of how Ottoneu is set up, I only got half his salary back, and was forced to wait 30 days to reauction him to get the rest. I spent that time right up against the cap, in "cap jail" as they put it, unable to really do much. I'll admit I was not being nice, was watching Fried and going to wait until a day before Bob could bid to put him up. I'

Someone felt like being nice to Bob I see. Where was this generosity when I was up against the cap and dropped Jimenez. Don't get me wrong, it's all good now, but would have made it a lot easier if someone had put him up right away. So gentleman's agreement for kids gloves rest of the way?

I wasn’t prepared to wait on Dominguez. I hated to lose Carrol, but not sure he will be up in 2022. I also needed to free up a roster spot. This was a way to start preparing for 2022. I’ll worry about 2023 and 2024 once I’ve sorted out my current roster!

OK I think I see where I went wrong -- You have to do it from lineups and click the week you want to set your lineup for.

I think the issue was you hadn't dropped Dolis until after the freeze. I don't know how to fix it though.
