I'm sure it's fine. It's summer and someone probably quickly through them up without finishing their profiles. It's just caused confusion in the past so I wanted to be sure.

Somewhat new to Ottoneu so I hope I didn’t do anything wrong by starting those auctions - just remember hearing on a podcast to check for their being added to the player pool at the end of July. Checked a few days ago and they weren’t there but checked this morning and they were.

Holliday is a SS and Anderson is a P. I think Ottoneu has just not updated their positions since they've just signed.

Just wondering, why are those 2 kids classified as FAs when they have both been drafted already? Just making sure we don't run into the same dual player thing we did in CBS.

I actually do what Jason is saying a lot (right now in fact), but what John is referring to is where people bid on every player, whether they want him or not. Usually this is because that owner is regulating the market. Making sure that if players are picked up, it's for a fair price. I believe it was Andy who played Sheriff last year. I really should be doing it more, as I have a lot of free cap space but I haven't been paying close enough attention.

Someone can probably explain better than me but it's usually done on your own players, after they are re-eligible for auction as a way to reduce your cap hit. For example, you drop Player X, who you won in auction at $8 dollars and then cut in Spring Training because he is having Tommy John. In this case the owner who dropped them would receive a $4 penalty. If you auction them again, you can then drop them again for added cap relief (no one else will be auctioning them and reducing that hit).

It eludes me to no end why managers win a bid and immediately drop the player. It happens all the time in both my Ottoneu leagues. Would someone be willing to explain the rationale please.

Hey Brad. Stats for players already drafted should not count at all. Totally unfair for those that need many players to fill active rosters.
Rosters can be accessed pre-draft.
Im wondering why Ottoneu cant put rosters back to pre Japan after our auction???

Stats for players drafted after the Japan series WILL NOT COUNT. Not sure if stats for players you already own during the games will count or not, so put them on your active roster just in case.

It sucks. Early last year and this year, pitchers are dropping like flies. The only silver lining is you will have $26 right after the draft when most of us are broke. Then another chunk if you re-auction him later.

I mean a message board probably isn't the best way to have this discussion but the risk part wasn't in giving up assets, as I didn't give up much, it's that keeping high priced player (especially pitchers) when the keeper deadline is 2 months before the start of the season is probably wrong. I haven't really thought about that in terms of if that says something about the league or not. I do wonder if someone knows why it would be detrimental to the league for owners to drop players pre auction?

Trading for Cole was a big risk/reward transaction. Not a pre auction trade that I would have done.

I'm pretty sure I was in this scenario when I joined last year and ended up just doing all my cuts at once to not get hit by penalties. It worked out well and was easy to do. Just takes some planning ahead of your cuts is all.

If there is no new owner for "Bang The Drum", I would suggest that the league take action on this team prior to the Jan 31 deadline. This would be done, such that, a new potential owner will have something to work with come the March 25 draft date. My proposal is that the league should drop all players on that team that have an Ottoneu Roster% of less than 70%. I would make one exception for Lucas Giolito (at 33%), who missed last year and is expected to be healthy this year.

Hey guys. There are lots of parts to a dynasty league. Research, auctions, faabs, trading, communication to name a few. Life gets in the way and sometimes we cant put as much effort into these things as we'd like to. I understand. Ive made a couple trade offers in the last week and all Ive heard is crickets. Please, if your busy, a simple message reply takes only 5 minutes.
Hopefully everyone is prepared for keepers lists shortly.
