I am open for business. All trades will be considered seriously. I put a few players on my block that I will be cutting as well.
-
Tough Hughes to Phil's trade block has been updated!
-
Yes, by the keeper deadline. At the end of January... That's still a really long time.
-
Yeah, I get your point, and I just read the Fangraphs article on it. But, don't all cuts have to be made by the keeper deadline (unless you want the extra salary hit)?

(cont.) owners have asked about a player I was planning to cut. If you can exchange a guy you think is worthy of cutting, for a guy you would keep that is great. However, if you cut early, you theoretically limit yourself as your "cuts" are already removed from your team. Feel free to disagree. I've just seen both of these situation work out numerous times. Basic tenant is that you tip your hand by cutting early. It give every other team more information to work with.

I was referring to the keeper deadline, but either makes sense. 2 scenarios as example: 1.) You cut before arbitration. If you do so, you may cut a guy who may attract $ from other squads. So now, instead of a dollar being on a guy you would cut anyways, there is likely money added to a player you plan to keep instead. 2.) You cut before keeper deadline end of January. If you do so, you have limited the pool of players from which you can trade. There have been many times for me where...

Friedman, which deadline are you talking about? The keeper deadline or the arbitration deadline?

You've Been Friedman'd's trade block has been updated!
-
Why owners make cut beyond the deadline doesn't make sense to me. I've had many times that my "cuts" are other teams "keeps"
-
Hoping folks will update their trade blocks soon, so I know what players to target before they get cut.

And like the horseman said, you can still allocate today :)
-
Taco, I don't think anyone is arguing that children are less important than fantasy (and you can still allocate today). I am only saying that from the 10+ individual seasons I have played, the owners who miss arbitration tend to not show up afterwords for anything else. If that is okay with league mates, no problem. I am just stating my opinion that I prefer the league to be active.
-
You can still allocate thru today

If people want me out, that's fine. But I already paid my $10 for the year, would like some sort of refund.

Well, I just came here to allocate, thought deadline was today. Vaguely remember this happening to someone last year. Had a newborn 11 days ago, so this obviously fell to the wayside. Not much else I can say than that.

That's more of my point. I am more than fine with someone leaving the league, just allocate your arbitration dollars first.
-
People have had over a month to take 5 minutes out and do arbitration. If they can't do that, they shouldn't be playing a fantasy sport and neglecting a team for a whole season.
-
As long as replacements for them aren't scarce, I agree
-
Personal opinion... If someone doesn't meet a deadline, they should be gone. Nothing against anyone at all, but if you want a better league, it is an easy way to trim complacent owners.

If someone does not allocate we will take a poll for removing them from the league, Fair?

Arbitration is such a nerve-racking experience. Be gentle.

Everyone returning next year?
-
Haha. Well done and congrats
-
And Ottos Army for keeping me nervy all September. Good fight.
-
And the rest of the Sydney teammates for showing that a homeboy can win a stupid fantasy league without watching a single game all season and only looking at the numbers. Thank you 14th inning stretch and we all look forward to a repeat in 2015. Peace.
-
David Ortiz, Kyle Seager and Johnny Peralta for the wonderful stats all season long. Carlos Santana for catching 150 quality games. Matt Holliday and Joey bats you pillars of consistency. Corey Dickerson and Steve Pearce for the surprise production.
-
Next, Sean Doolittle, Glen Perkins and Koji Uehara for providing saves aplenty and at such economical value.
-
First of all I'd like to thank my players. My pitching staff for being all time. King Felix, Corey Kluber and Chris Sale, my worthy 1 2 3 AL Cy Young punch. Alex Wood, Carlos Carrasco, Francisco Liriano and Brandon Mccarthy, you guys too.
-
And Otto takes the lead, with 10 guys on the DL (up from 9)!!
-
I have 12,345.5 points. so close to 12345.6.
-
Utley is on the block for contenders wanting a 2B or MI.
-
I haven't been contacted :)
-
Ok. It was just a little joke. And so far the prices have been too high on the guys I've tried to get or the owners are AWOL
-
I agree with Lelyland--it's nice to see the league active. And along those lines, I'll reiterate Friedman's point--feel free to send a deal my way (I'm not expecting to make up 2,500 points in 6 weeks).
-
With a few weeks to trade deadline maybe pout less and trade more. Many of us toward the bottom have pieces available.
-
I say this with all due respect, you guys can suck eggs, damn you for paying attention and out bidding me for obscure propects. It is refershing to be in a league with people that pay attention, but can you guys just let me sneak one guy once in a while.
-
leave that to those of us at the bottom of the standings
-
But if I don't pout who will?
-
Well, with 2 weeks left before the trade deadline and 6 weeks before the end of the season, I wouldn't be pouting quite yet if I were you.
