You're welcome for me reminding you that he was still available in the draft.
-
i was gonna cut lohse yesterday but thought with chapman going to the pen i needed the pitching depth more than middle infield. i think there might actually be a god, you guys.
-
Urbina's Farmhands's trading block has been updated!
-
Don't call my escorts whores.
-
Lady luck is a filthy whore
-
ok, simple enough solution. just me and david justice bidding this time for skaggs.
-
I'm not bidding on him either way...I don't need him anymore
-
Urbina's Farmhands's trading block has been updated!
-
That's fine if that's decided
-
i removed skaggs and started another auction. i made sure to specify it was $4 and you said you understood, so my gut reaction is to say you've lost your chance at skaggs. i'm admittedly biased though so i'll talk with domo and we'll reach a consensus.
-
I thought it was 5? I'm ok dropping and redoing if I screwed up
-
Thanks for cheating Safeco
-
The problem was that waivers was never switched to random, which Niv has fixed. It had nothing to do with the set lineups page.
-
Gee, Seager, and Cabrera that you cited earlier are all examples of randomly determined auction ties.
-
And second Domo on the message board notification.
-
same outcome. I still think the easiest way to do this is to have Domo flip a coin/use a random number generator to deterime the winner.
-
Urbina, what makes you think that the auction will work differently than the waiver claim? We still have the issue where the system is looking at the standings from last year. We haven't had an auction end in a tie yet, but I think we're going to get the
-
didnt see djib's post. we'll leave it open in the event i retain soriano.
-
and becuase recent posts have pushed it off the main page, i want to reiterate the only people who should be bidding on soriano and skaggs should be me, djib, and safeco. for a full explanation read the older messages.
-
i dont mean to be a dick, safeco, but with ross hurt i only have 4 healthy OFs. i only cut duda because i got soriano, so if i lose him i was planning on undoing the cut and adding him back to my roster
-
I have bid on both Skaggs and Soriano. Do we want to end the Duda auction? If Urbina doesn't win the coin flip, then he should have a chance to mulligan those cuts.
-
and yes, the vote came back in favor of changing the arb process. which i believe is the fairest long term solution.
-
ya it'd be nice to have a second year of data to know what a first place finish in each category looks like. sadly i dont have it though.
-
And what I'm talking about is when you go to Standings -> Export to Excel. Anyone archive that info?
-
Also, in the interest of league history, does anyone have the excel file of our first season? I had it because I set up the year #2 draft going after players that outperformed what the league #1's were. That said, can't find it
-
And on the vote offs, I just wanted someone else to reiterate that yes we decided to change because I felt biased because I went all in on getting Bundy.
-
Kudos on the work Urb, I think that's fair for everyone involved given what has transpired.
-
I did not put a claim in on Soriano, so I will not be bidding
-
Looks good to me!
-
DJIB and Safeco, please message me so I know we set up the auctions correctly. I don't want to screw it up and have to redo it.
-
and to mirror the waiver process, the teams that put claims on them AND ONLY THOSE TEAMS should bid on them at their original salary. So $4 for Skaggs and $6 for Soraino. We should get the results, randomly decided, in 48 hours.
-
In regard to Skaggs and Soriano, Niv got back to me and said he changed the waiver claim to random until the season start. So what we're gonna do now is I'm gonna add them both back to the free agent pool. I'll start auctions on both of them
-
off when they reached the majors. Had I known it would've been that much harder to get Trout in the future, I would have seriously considered trying to draft him in the first place
-
However, I think it was necessary to stick with the vote off system this year because at the original draft (and the second one when Harper got voted off), I didn't think it was worth it to bid on the uber-prosects because they would have just been voted
-
In reply to your original rant, domo, I agree that the new system is superior, especially in regard to prospects. It seems incredibly unfair to have someone occupy a roster sport for years and then to lose them despite putting in the time.
-
And honestly I made it a point to check this morning because I forgot to see what Rye added A-Rod for. I forgot to check the auction result but knew no one was beating him on a Yankee
-
I checked this board every day looking for a response to my rambles, didn't check yesterday and missed everything. There needs to be a message board notification system on this
-
Niv agrees that it should be processed randomly and said he will look into it. I suppose there is a chance that it was done randomly and the dice just happened to roll my way. You keep you updated.
-
Right, I agree with the coin flip, but I think we were "tied" in the system's mind until we were allowed to set lineups. Instead of clearing last seasons statistics, it kept them, which has led to this problem
-
to enforce them should be able to clear it up.
-
The only mention of a coin flip I see in the rules is in reference to auctions, so it is conceivable that waivers could work differently. I've emailed Niv, so we should just abide by whatever he says. The guy who wrote the rules and designed the system
-
the waiver claim worked correctly, then we would have to move Dillon Gee, Corey Seager, and Evereth Cabrera.
-
The point is that the waivers and add auction rules are written the same way. It doesn't really matter what Niv says, as his intentions will be contrary to how one of these systems has been working. We can listen to what Niv says, but if he thinks that
-
before more players change hands.
-
est in the standings. the whole point is to be realistic, so if thats how offseason waivers work in MLB, then it may be intentional. ill email him today because if i lose either player ill want duda/rosario back, so this is something we figure out asap b
-
for the auctions im fairly certain theres no real coin flip, but the program just picks one team or the other. so this may be a question best answered by niv, whether this is an oversight and it should be determined randomly or if it still goes to the low
-
And the 2nd sentence on applied to the current system
-
You'd have to do a multi way coin flip. That's the most fair to try to even teams year to year, but I'm not so sure it shouldn't be like others where there's a waiver list and it's fluid
-
actually get Skaggs and Soriano instead of defaulting to Urbina?
-
ean that last year's standings should now take precedence. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but I would like the opportunity for both Soriano and Skaggs on my rosters. Domo, is there any way that you could do a coin flip to determine who should
