I'll be sure to send out a group email looking for commitments for next season. Arbitration starts in just another week!
-
Thanks guys, it certainly was an exciting finish. To be honest my payroll bubble is probably about to pop, so I want it to be known that anyone and everyone is available this season. Looking to reload and keep my window of contention open just a little bit longer.
-
Congrats Urbina! Two in a row! I'll be back for next year.
-
If any spots open up, let me know - I have an interested party. Ottoneu experienced and very active participant.
-
Congrats again Jeff. Per usual, you put together a strong team, although we kept it close until the end. Good luck to everyone in the offseason. Rembember that arbitration starts Octobert 15th. If you are thinking about dropping out next year, let us know now so we can find a replacement who will participate in the arb and cut/keep process.

Well Played urbina. Thought I might be able to make up those k's

Anyone in contention interested in zobrist or Vogt? Zobrist on fire, Vogt heating up.

Willing to trade any of my vets for worthwhile/well-priced youngsters to any of the 3 or 4 teams still in the hunt ... Trade deadline is tonight!
-
Looks like the reports of UF's impending victory might have been a bit premature. Should be a hell of a final month.

I wonder if my pitching can implode enough to blow first place. Smart money says yes.

A buddy of mine and I are thinking of starting an Ottoneu football league and are looking for interested ones to join. Our initial thought is a ppr league with a flex and superflex. Considering $50 or $100 tiers. If interested email me mpep86@gmail.com

That's fine with me if it's self policing. But I also want to make sure that the "expiring contract" concept is a kosher move when it comes to future trades.
-
Totally agree with Eckstein. Per the rules you are under no obligation to cut Upton. But if those were the conditions that led to a deal, I'll leave it to you to enforce them. I have no issue with the agreement.
-
Latos only wanted to do the trade if Upton would be cut by the end of the year. We could have done it without telling anyone, but this way there is at least a record of it. And while it's not a crazy trade, I wanted to make sure everything was above board.
-
I think the trade is fine, but I don't think anyone should enforce whether or not Justice must drop Upton at season's end. Nothing's binding in ottoneu but players and salary loans actually agreed upon.

Rod Beck's Beauties's trade block has been updated!

Due to the database issue, the trade between Latos Intolerant and Rod Beck was inadvertantly cancelled. Rod Beck asked me to help him resolve a problem with his salary cap in which he was counting on the trade to get him under the cap. I don't really understand the specifics but what I ended up doing was the transferring the players manually using the commissioner tools. This ends up being a little early but if anyone has any issues or was planning on voting to veto, please contact me or DJIB
-
Besides, very few pitchers ever come back from labrum surgery and Adams was struggling this year. Both will cost 6 next year if kept so I don't think either is worth losing sleep over.
-
The only other team we've replaced midseason was MouseRats maybe two years ago. I don't remember how we handled that. And we've had more than a few instances where we've needed to find replacement owners after someone went MIA over the offseason and missed the keeper deadline. But those are different circumstances I guess. Looking at the rules it's clear Niv has thought about this scenario so I think we should just let it go the way he designed it to.
-
It definitely wasn't that way in previous years. But if it's in the rules then let's go with it. I don't really like the idea that the team that cut the player can bid in the auction, but it happens infrequently enough where it's not worth complaining.
-
Feels they've missed out, we can do it again at a $1 starting bid. But overall I'm happy to let it fly.
-
In the past we've always had the same policy but the penalty free cuts were done manually with the commissioner tools. We haven't had any mid season replacements for a few year so I must have missed it if Niv made this an official rule and arranged for it to happen automatically. Thankfully both of these guys are out for the year so we have plenty of time to figure it out. Personally I think 4 each is very reasonable given the severity of their injuries, but if anyone really wanted them and
-
Which is a long way of saying I feel fine with the outcome of both Adams and Ryu's auctions.
-
Reading over the rules it seems pretty clear that a new owner - regardless of when during the season he takes over - gets a round of free cuts. And as those cuts don't count against his cap, it follows that the cut players' baseline wire salary is reset to the $1 minimum.
-
g. If a team changes ownership, the new owner is given the opportunity to make one round of penalty-free cuts.
-
I need to read the rules. If there truly is a "cut grace period" then I'll let it fly, but I don't think it's worked that way in the past. Most likely I'll be doing some manual cuts, adds and cuts later today to get the money to work out like it should.
-
Didn't we agree that Adams / Ryu need to go for at least 6 dollars...?
-
And ... my pleasure at landing Miller was short-lived.

I think we only need to restart the auction if the players in question are drafted for less than the cap minimum. So anyone who wants to bid on Adams or Ryu should simply place a $6 or greater bid if interested.
