And with that I’m going to go ahead and remove divisions
-
Seems like it is fairer with no divisions, so I'll vote no as well.
-
You've convinced me
-
It doesn’t. I commish a league on here with no divisions and it’s the same setup. Divisions are just a cosmetic effect on here.
-
Losing divisions doesn’t mean that we’d lose the first round bye right? It just means the teams with the top 2 records get the bye.
-
The bye is a huge advantage and a well deserved perk for the division winners. In the playoffs where anything can happen having one less matchup to worry about is ample reason for keeping the divisions imo. I really think we should keep the divisions. It’s one of the things that separates H2H from standard FGTPTS and I personally find it more engaging.

Last year the green division had 4 playoff teams and the red division 2

I already voted no divisions. I don't care. The only impact is the play off bye. A division winner often has less the record than a #2 of another division. There is no impact to total play off teams.

I’m in favor of keep the divisions if the top 3 teams from each division make the playoffs. Last year, the top 6 records made the playoffs regardless of their division. It made the divisions pointless

I have mixed feelings. On one hand, ideally the league's top teams should all make it into the playoffs. Many times, a weaker division pops up and one or two teams back into the playoffs because of that. On the other hand, a division format should generate more opportunity for teams to make the playoffs and therefore generate more interest and longer levels of participation by more owners (at least in theory). I vote for keeping the division format. As far as matchups/week, I vote 1.
-
For H2H I prefer divisions. I know I’m in the minority. No worries if it gets switched.

Right now I see 4 votes for no divisions to 0 for divisions. Need 3 more to make it official
-
Yeah I'd remove divisions, top 6 teams make it to the playoffs regardless

The only value I read in this thread is "keeping interest up." I have no idea how that statement is factually supported. Fangraph writers (paraphrasing) that the less games left in Aug/SEP provide geometrically larger impact. And that quitters, quit regardless, and for many reasons not associated with the game. The population of actives continue to decrease. Giving quitters more influence. Ergo, the statement that 2 games/week is a negative to game play.

one is fine with me and i would be good w/o divisions too.
-
I’d be happy to have no divisions. Top x teams just make the playoffs.

Yeah I think my vote is 1 matchup as well. If someone is checked out it means their inactivity is doubled in effect. I do happen to recall there being a decent amount of interest in losing divisions?
-
one matchup
-
The value has previously been discussed. I understand you are strongly opposed. We are all one of twelve that make up the league. I floated the proposal and hope that if the majority is in favor then it would be instituted. If not so be it.

What is the value/improvement to the game play? Any reading that I have (and one season experience of 2 games/week is that games/points are doubled. So what? And there is negative in that the impact of the QUITTERS in Aug-Sep is doubled. Quitters are bad. Let's not double their impact.

I prefer 1 matchup a week. I like to focus on one opp lineup as the week goes

I would be good with 2 matchups per week
-
Maybe the rest of the league could weigh in. If nobody does then I guess it’s a moot point.

I count 3 votes for 2 games per week. No value/improvement. Change for changes sake. A hard no

And are we definitely not going to 2 matchups per week or is that still being considered? I think it’s better with 2 but am fine with whatever league decides.

Ah good catch. I just missed it and I’ve now fixed it

I noticed that it looks like in the settings playoff section it is 9 GS/week. Is that intentional or just missed?

I have a surplus at first base right now. I’m looking to move Vlad Guerrero Jr for a top 10 outfielder

Gallen is available. Serious offers only. I’m not looking to take on salary. Prefer a top prospect or young MLB bat and young SP for future.

I vote 10 starts and 2 matchups per week
-
We’re at 6 votes for 10 starts per week
-
Sure
-
I vote 10 as well, better utilizes the 40 man roster.
I’d vote for 2 matchups a week. You don’t manage differently and decreases variance. The standings are a more exact replication of team strength.

I am actually a commissioner in a league that switched to 2 matchups per week last year. It evened out the standings as more teams were in the playoff hunt longer. Owners were more engaged. There was absolutely nothing messy about it imo. A lot of leagues utilize it. Just a proposal.
