Updated my trading block, all ears on any offers.
-
if anyone wants to take verlander and wait, send me something
-
If we are able to crown a champion and accrue stats then we will proceed with arbitration and free agency as normal.
-
i don't feel strongly about draft vs redraft. it would be nice to have one offseason of learning how the arb takes place, etc.
-
I assume the season is moving forward with how we have it setup? Im fine with way, but if we delay, id rather do a tear-down and re-draft next spring. So many variables currently.
On another note, if anyone wants Adell, please send me a solid closer and a starter and you can probably have him....
-
Im down for whatever is decided on

I know I haven't been that active on this site for a long time. Just wanted to check-in and see what you guys think about this season. I've read a take about freezing dynasty leagues till next spring. I'm open to ideas, just not sure the MLB is even going to get 60 games in. I don't think I really want to re-draft in the spring. Would just doing arbitration and a free agent draft would teams be hit hard on the high priced guys?
-
I guess I could go either way.
-
As we draw further into the year without baseball, I wanted to pose a question for the league. With the chance that (god forbid) we don't have a season: Who would be in favor of a tear down and re-draft next year, and who would rather keep the current rosters and work through arbitration and a free agent draft?
-
;( when you get that email from ottoneu letting you know the season starts at the end of the week..
-
Hey guys, I hope all is well and everyone is staying safe. I wanted to post this here and you can reach out to me personally for more details if need be. I currently help out a charity called Baseball Miracles and we are always looking for gloves, bats, balls, etc that are new or gently used. Our website is https://www.baseballmiracles.org/. If anyone is interested in donating to this awesome charity with these items that you don't use that much but are in pretty good shape, please let me know!

Sale undergoing Tommy John. :/

Somebody want to loan me a dollar? It says to cut another player but when I go to cut one it's telling me I'm going to have another cap penalty for doing so.
-
When you cut a player, half of his salary still counts against your cap. I'm assuming a $1 players whole salary will count in that case unless someone picks him up.

I added a player for $1 and cut a player that cost $1. Why is it still saying I need to cut a player?
-
Ya..well...White Sox is his employer you say? :-)
I’m watching re-runs on MLB.TV to get thru all this. The Mariners have some excellent young players I have to say.
-
well guess my neighbor is an idiot...
-
The Angels should legitimately be looking to do the same thing lmao
-
im willing to trade Adell for pitching and or proven MLB talent
-
my neighbor works for the white sox and he was told that MLB told organizations the earliest they can do is april 15th for opening day, with players reporting back april 1st. Unlikely dates though
-
I am predicting Opening Day will be between June 5th-June 15th.
-
Most likely scenario has everything resuming in June. Not a fan of having to wait that long but on the bright side..... kopech will be ready to re-join the rotation at that point.
-
Looking to free up cap space. Joey Votto can be had for pennies on the dollar. Someone send an offer
-
Well guys who knows when the season will start. I'm always ready to debate anything and everything about baseball.
-
My lineup was invalid due to going over the salary cap. Mallex had no place on my roster so I found a team that could absorb his entire salary and free up some room for me. He wasnt shopped around because there were only 2 teams that could take him without sending any salary in return. On the flip side I have shopped players to you but have not received a counter offer in return.
-
Sorry that trade upset you Drum. Dont see many on your roster I wouldve taken for him.

more upsetting is the awful Devers trade and Mallex being given away. Good lord. Why arent people shopping players to everyone?

Keep your shit clean, mwash your hands, take precautions, dont take grandma out for a day in the city, and most importantly calm the fuck down and stop buying so much TP!!

doxie nailed it. the flu is far more deadly. All this handwashing and sanatizing that everyone i going nuts about all of a sudden should always be happening during flu season anyway ! Why the fuck can't i go to the store right now and get a roll of toilet paper!? What do people think is happening, this is 2020 , science is insane , they will get a handle on it, the hysteria is only making it worse. Social media , the media , and the fact that people watch way to much tv!

Well, opening day is being pushed back at least 2 weeks
-
in that same vein, if you start 2 catchers, and both play the first 82 games of the season, you will have maxed out the position.
-
Any minute now Spring Training will be suspended. I am surprised they even went through with games today. I honestly do not think they will play games until after May 15th. What are your predicitions?
-
The catcher question was addressed in the draft as well as multiple times on this message board. There are two spots for platooning purposes. Since the majority of catchers split time with a backup, starting two allows you to cover off days without having to constantly switch players in and out of the lineup.
-
The joke is the hysteria of a virus much less deadly than the flu. The media has whipped the sheep into a frenzy to cause chaos. Election year and confusion is the agenda with Covid 19. Baseball is played outdoors and this will all be driven away by the good ole SUN! Sheep will be sheep and Im hoping MLB has more sense than to delay one single game. My question about catchers and max games is still unanswered and MUCH more important!

Either way, I’m missing out on some sweet bobble heads at dodger stadium. I will have to up my prozac to the level I had after they lost to the Nats last year to get thru this.
-
I don't understand the idea of playing games at Minor League stadiums or Spring Training facilities. You are only going to heighten the chance of getting the virus in those areas. Makes absolutely no sense. Delay the season. Make it 154 games, 144, 125, whatever the case may be, they cannot put people at risk. Joke if they don't do it honestly. What do you guys think?
-
I've been thinking the same thing and wondering how they are going to handle it. I'm sure shortening the season wouldn't be a big deal. Neither would starting the season later and ending the playoffs later since the ballparks are only used for baseball in most cases. It's not like they have to work around concerts and other events like the NBA does.
-
There is no way MLB starts the season on time
-
catchers*
-
My understanding is you will need two catches to meet the 162 max games.
-
Another question guys. Line up says start 2 catchers, but max games at C is 162. Which is correct?

Sorry Im brain dead, but this league's rules and how to's are very vague to me. I've read all I can and still cant find how to put players on trade block? Devers and a few others are possible trades for me if anyone is interested?

looking to add a relief pitcher, doesnt need to be a closer necessarily. Open to trading Judge or any of the 232342342 cub players i have
-
Yes, from the rules; x. The lineups page and roster organizer for non-head-to-head leagues allows for 2 catchers for platooning purposes; Ottoneu is not a 2-catcher game.

Things to consider during the draft: 1. This is a dynasty league. The price you pay for players in this draft is carried forward. The more they cost, they less likely you are to be able to keep them. 2. There are 40 roster spots, you have to field a full 22 player lineup. The remaining spots are left for you to decide(bench, minors, empty. All empty roster spots have to be matched by one dollar in cap space.
-
In order to maintain a consistent pace in the draft and reduce how long it takes I wanted to introduce a few items of draft etiquette: 1. Have your nomination prepared before your turn. This will save around 30 seconds from each pick 2. Limit the amount of last second bidding. Allowing the clock to run down before placing a bid adds a significant amount of time to the draft.
