I don't want to put in aa 24 hr clock because while most of us are sitting home we may have a few health care or emergency workers that are working around the clock to keep us safe.

Couple things I noticed on that MiLB news post, one is: rosters are supposed to be locked, shouldn't be trades or claims. Also it reads there is a 24 hour clock, not sure if we are strictly following those or not.

No problem with Uber if he says the claim itself was unintentional, but yeah I dont 'necessarily want to set a precedent otherwise

I'll live with my mistake, I don't like it when a commissioner does things to benefit himself. I also have no problem with letting Uber off the hook. But I don't want anybody complaining about it If anyone has a problem with it let him speak now.

But we can avoid the precedent situation by making a clear reminder to everyone about how rosters and cap penalties work, and that we should be extra careful going forward.
-
Oh for sure, and like I said, I've been there myself. I see this as more akin to clicking the wrong button and accepting at trade and asking if people would be cool with undoing it...not really a problematic precedent unless people abuse that and look to have bad roster moves undone (again, you're just gonna have to trust me that that's not what this was). I just figured that in this case that SEVEN could also get the same benefit of the doubt because his situation set this all off originally.
-
I don't really care either way, although I'm concerned about setting a precedent. I've been in this exact situation in other leagues and in those cases I just had to cut the player and eat the salary penalty. We're only talking about a $2 player, which will be reduced to $1 after 30 days if renom and then cut.

(esp since none of SEVEN's other cuts went claimed)
-
FWIW, since no baseball in imminent, I have no problem resetting SEVEN's roster as well and just chalk it up to working out the kinks. But obviously everyone would have to be on board for that.
-
Yeah like I said, I've had that happen before when I didn't account for roster spots in the add/drop math...but that was my own doing. This time I didn't even mean to make the claim because I knew I didn't have the roster space to claim any of the guys you dropped.
-
What happens if you just drop him?
Probably the same thing that happened to me.
That stinks.

I mean, I have no problem undoing both. I've dealt with this stuff before when I did bad math, etc., but this time I have no idea how the claim even got made.
-
I got screwed yesterday when I won an auction for Tony Gonsolin. I was $1 short but everytime I dropped a player I didn't have enough to cover my empty Roster spots. I wound up dropping 7 players just to cover the $1.

Hey y'all, feel stupid asking asking this so early into the league's existence, but I absolutely did not mean to make that Kevin Newman claim. I promise this isn't buyers/cutters remorse...I definitely went to the claims page to see what various guys would cost, but did NOT mean to claim anyone. If everyone would allow it, I would gladly just undo the claim (and either let him go to anyone else who claimed him or into waivers if nobody did).
-
Is there a rule on how long people can carry more than the 40 player max or be over the $400 salary cap? Seeing as we dont really have games/days that wont count while teams are over

Ok, i'm somewhat of a neophyte with this stuff. I have the spreadsheet downloaded, or I can share with whomever as a google doc, I defer to the more tech savvy league members. It is a fun exercise I can attest to that.

Hello everyone, In light of everything going on I've joined a contest put on by the athletic. Figured we could do it here as a league. Briefly, using players from the last 40 years you create the best fantasy roster you can. You can't repeat a player, a year, or a team, you also must have at least 5 players from each decade. We then count up the stats and see who wins essentially. Whoever is interested email me at NBiscardi17@gmail.com and I'll send you the spreadsheet.
