Hey everyone - My name is Luke and I just took over PlushWins. Was skeptical of joining a new league after the cut deadline and this one looked like a good fit. Hope the other two spots fill and looking forward to the draft (and hopefully a full season). Going to change the team name to make it my own, so I’ll let y’all know what I decide soon.

Yes, I am in. I think that as we get closer to the MLB season becoming a reality interest in fantasy baseball will increase and we should be able to find players willing to step in. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

well rather than gaining a new manager, two more managers left the league. Is everyone currently here still interested in another season? I will try to find three managers but given the difficulty in even finding one manager I'm not sure how that'll go. Please DM me now if you'd like to play this year so I can get a head count.

No thanks. This league already provides all the enjoyment I’m looking for out of it. Plus if I ever do find myself a little bored I can always just look at that shiny first place trophy sitting nicely on my team page

I am in some of the most active leagues on ON. Leagues where we have dialogue 365 days a year. 32 trades in a 72 hour period and 11 consecutive trades with at least one trade. I appreciate you being a keyboard warrior though I will look forward to your team being below mine in the final standings

Sounds like you should leave then. I’d say it’s pretty normal for leagues to be quiet right now until after the offseason draft. The guys I’m keeping I don’t want to trade and the guys I’m cutting are being cut for a reason. Once the draft happens, you can see what areas of weakness you still have and then trades will happen to address those. But if it hurts your feelings that no one wants to play in the sandbox the way you specifically want then feel free to leave and we’ll happily replace you

Was undecided at the time about coming back along with the other 6 teams. And so inactive that this team will finish higher than your quality team this year. How many off season moves has this league made? How much dialogue have we had amongst owners? If I’m going to be playing with boring owners I at least want to play for money so I have something to play for. If you guys were active I would at least be excited for the trash talk and healthy banter

honestly im probably out of this league if we are not playing for money. This league hasn't really shown much of activity for me to just do it "for fun"

Not this year, no. There were a number of managers who wanted to keep it at 20 so in the interest of simplicity I am going to leave it at that for now, we can revisit this for next year. But there was some interest in a side pot for those who wanted to raise it to 50. I can help manage that. So if you're interested let me know via DM. It'd be 30 dollars buy-in, with first place (of the side pot) getting most of it, second place getting their 30 back.

Good news! PlushWins is in! Still haven't heard from New Haven, so PUK it is likely your brother in law will be taking over that team but I'll let you know for sure Saturday.

I have messaged PlushWins and New Haven Romantics, giving them until this Friday to express interest in a new season. If I don't hear from them I will mark their teams as abandoned at that point. PUK thank you for talking with your brother in law!

alright there has been some interest in raising the buy-in, but also some push back. I think for now then we should leave it as it is. One manager had a good point which is that we should see if we can get more consistent involvement in the league before we ask people to pay 50 or more dollars to play.

Currently our league is in the first tier of membership payment (20 dollars to play, no cash prizes). Some owners have asked about moving up a tier and introducing cash prizes for league winners. The next tier is 50 dollars to play: winner wins 200, second place wins 100 and third place wins 50. Soon I will start an anonymous league poll to see what interest there is in this idea. For this change I will look fora consensus vote to change the league setting, since it involves real money.

Okay so the teams that didn't participate in arbitration are the most likely to leave the league. Ottoneu has indicated they'd like to stay, so it's just PlushWins and New Haven Romantics that are likely to leave. I have messaged them repeatedly but without hearing anything back. If anyone has a friend or two interested in fantasy baseball let me know!

Sorry all, I was in off season mode and swamped with work. I don't think we need to disband the league unless we can't fill the league by draft time! So please message me everyone if you don't want to be back next year and I'll start looking for new managers.

The other issue we voted on was a change in the scoring, but the consensus was to keep the scoring format as it is. We should also talk about changing the league name, since as I now realize, this league has been together for long enough that I don't think we are fresh faces anymore.

Alright everyone, that's a wrap on baseball this year. We have lots of off-season fun though still to come, so those of us who've been on sidelines the last few weeks have a role to play again. Arbitration is going to be fun this year!
