Wow, my 5x5 league really must be dead. I just found out that Kyle Lohse is unowned. 7 wins and a 2 ERA is unowned in a 12tm 40man 5x5 league? What's up with that?

Yeah, I started Shields the other night in picksix too. 4 HRs allowed to the Ms in Safeco, unreal.

-7.5. Brutal.

Isn't the point reduction in picksix wonderful? Sonnanstine so far has been not as bad as Avila, once you factor in the SP scoring reduction.

Right, in picksix, that was -8 or so.

I started Andy Sonnanstine today in picksix. Somehow I think that's going to come back to haunt me.

Of course, but there's a risk associated with players that, you know, play: they might score points. So might as well agree to pick guys that will play.

Ah, but for the Mariners award, you not only want players that'll play, but play poorly. Therefore it's in your best interest to have everyone play.

Lowest score wins, but you gotta spend $110. As an on-your-honor gentlemen's agreement, I say no Sherrill (still costs $25+), and no players you know aren't playing.

Mariners Monday sounds like a plan. I could care less about the overall standings. So for Mariners Monday, lowest score wins? (We should keep track of this within our league to see who wins the most of our "event" days at the end of the season)

Thanks man. I would be up for a Mariners day. Good point about the BABIP. He's stolen a few bases, so maybe he has some sneaky speed.

Ligers, another great showing in picksix yesterday! Folks wanna try for the Seattle Mariners achievement sometime next week?

As for his ROS ZiPs, they're buoyed by a 330 babip (current babip is 395!), which I'm dubious of. But you're right, a 340-360 wOBA out of 2b is great. Of course, now you have to trust LaRussa to play him...

I'm not questioning his rosterability, I'm just surprised you were willing to pay $11 for him.

There are 10 middle infielders with a higher ROS ZIPS wOBA (all of whom cost $20 or more) and I think ZIPS is underestimating Craig's power.
-
Good power and walk rate, which minor league stats and prospect pedigree say is sustainable, still fairly young, second-base eligible for at least this year and next year. What's not to like?
-
Ligers, you bid $11 on Allen Craig? Do you have some kind of insider info on this guy?

I don't think people really understand just how big a deal Alabama/Auburn is here in Alabama until they live here. I'm from here and it still scares me. And I'm every bit as football obsessed as I am with baseball.

Note: He is in A ball, and OBP'ing .286. Partly that makes my jaw drop that he's that terrible with a bat, partly that makes me go "how did he attempt 46 steals with a .286 OBP?"

If anybody's looking for a sneaky steals play down the line in a dynasty format, take a look at Billy Hamilton, 2B/SS for the Reds. 40 steals in 45 games.
