Umpire weekend is still edging out Detroit Ligers for the top spot, and widen the gap between themselves and OMG, projected to finish safely in 3rd between Ligers and King's Pitch.

As usual, since it's Sunday, I'll update the scoring paces after game action tonight.

The trade between Babip and I is intentional. He knows Butler isn't on my roster, we're doing this solely for the purpose of testing the league software.

The day you start him, he's going 4 innings with 6 walks and 3 HRs allowed on 4 Ks.

8 2 1 0 9 line for Liriano vs Texas, might have to start using the guy!
-
I'm surprised nobody else bid on Medlen.

Scutaro went 4-6 yesterday in that 16-4 beatdown of the Jays. Lowrie has cooled off a lot and is dealing with an injury so Marco should get plenty of playing time for now.

How ridiculous to start a game at 10:30 pm local time as they are doing tonight after a 3 hour rain delay in the Bronx.

Late last night the word was that Pedroia was heading back to Boston to have the knee looked at, with the possibility that he might miss up to a month. I think Peter Abraham of the Globe broke the story. Relieved it's not that serious!
-
I have no idea. I don't keep up with individual players all that closely, unless I see a name I own.

where did the report that Pedroia was missing a month come from? that kind of freaked me out

Right when Lawrie is about to get called up, non-displaced hand fracture, out 2+ weeks. Seriously? :(

I've wondered this myself. I don't know, but my guess is that the average price is based on all current prices, not historical values, and that's only because programming is easy for the former, and hard for the latter.

So Mike, that means you'll be bidding $12 on him?
Plakata on
June 8, 2011 12:53 AM
-
... $22 and $11 (all auctions, soon to be $22, $11, and $6+)?
-
When a player gets cut and auctioned off again, do you guys know if that is being reflected in the average values page? e.g. in the case of Liriano, would his value data for our league consist of $22 (initial auction), $11 (most recent auction), or ...
-
Yep. :) I figure the sweet spot on him is somewhere in this $6-$11 range.
-
Also, I'll update our scoring paces after the Nats/Giants game is over. Forgot to do that on Sunday, sorry.

I'm not surprised honestly, Super Two deadline is safely past, I think. We'll start to see a lot of callups. Lawrie, Kipnis, Chisenhall, and possibly Alonso are probably all coming up soon.

Well, it's a good problem to have, I guess. Sounds like Rizzo is getting the call. Surprised they're moving him this quickly. No I just have to hope the park doesn't kill his production.

I'm wondering where they FIT Rendon. Already have Werth, Harper, Zimm and Espinosa. Espinosa to the bench as a utility guy? Moves back over to SS?

*picks; sorry about that. Also did folks see that Harper blew a kiss at a pitcher after riding a tater out of the yard? Gonna be fun to watch a kid with that kind of pluck. The Nats could be stacked in a year or two, and just added Rendon.

Other than the HR/FB spike, it wasn't that far removed from 06/07. What's weird is all of his other skills have disappeared too. Even last year he at least hit home runs, most of his bad offense was due to awful BABIP.
