If anyone would like Luebke longterm, send me a message. I don't know that I want to sit on him for a year.

just a heads up: won't be checking this much, if at all, till Friday

Right, sorry, that's cause, as some of you know, I own him in another league where his offensive struggles have been trying to my team.

2 game hitting streak for Albert Pujols!
-
Right, yeah.
-
The Phils do have Kendrick, who they believe can give them at least 6 innings.
-
I think most teams have a swing man that give them 5 innings. I wonder, if a player is suspended, the team can't call up a player to take his spot?

Teams don't generally carry a 6th starter the way they carry a backup IF/OF though, right?
-
And if a starting pitcher and a hitter got into a brawl and both received five-game suspensions, that's a much stiffer penalty for the hitter. Yet if they were both suspended for say a month, the the suspensions would seem to be equivalent.
-
Do you guys agree that five-day suspensions for starting pitchers, who would have four days off anyway, are kind of ridiculous? If it had been a reliever in Hamels' shoes, would he get the same five games? Much bigger impact then.
-
Yeah, I don't know why Hamels felt the need to admit it; that's the part I can't really figure out.

well at least until Rizzo one-upped him with those ridiculous comments
-
I'm pretty happy with how the whole thing turned out. Hamels just ended up looking like an idiot

What do you guys think of Hamels plunking Harper?

Of course I didn't keep my word and am hooked on Pick Six again. You have to pick one of the SB Nation blogs' leaderboards to be a part of, so I'm mixing it up with those FanGraphs wannabes from Beyond the Boxscore. Anyone else playing Pick Six?
-
So with Longoria and Youkilis on the DL I'm in the market for corner IF. Have just LaHair for 1B and just Bonafacio at 3B at the moment. I've got 10 propspects on my roster (most consensus top-50 guys) and some depth to deal from at SP and RP.
-
For those that are new to the league, an owner can re-auction players they've cut, after waiting 30 days. By reacquiring the player, and cutting him again, an owner can reduce the cap hit by half, rounded up.

Wow, $13 for Chris Davis! I like him a lot - and he may even prove to be worth that - but I never would have guessed he'd cost that much.

So Pick Six is finally launching tomorrow. Really bad move by them not having it ready for opening day. At this point my daily fantasy routine is pretty well ingrained and I probably won't make time for it.
-
That double he smoked off of Billingsley was something else. Serious backspin. And what a throw from LF. Wilson Ramos had a really bad defensive game that night, dropping that and doing a crappy job blocking Rodriguez's pitches in the 9th.
-
I was at all of the Nats - Dodgers series. When Harper rolls into your town, you MUST catch his batting practice.
-
Apologies for the awful pun - it was unintentional, I swear.

Did anyone catch Harper or Trout this weekend? I still haven't seen Trout, but man, Harper swings out of his shoes every time. I thought it was pretty impressive, honestly.

If folks feel strongly that I should add them, I'm more than happy to do so. Otherwise, it'll just be 5 pts that got lost.

It was about 5 points, so I don't think it's necessary to add them. The only reason I can see doing it now is to maintain a fair waiver claim order, but even then, the odds that 5 points would impact a result are slim.

points lost due to this annoying quirk in the league format every time it happens
-
and they'll only be available once Ottoneu's source posts lineups every day. tough luck if you're not at your computer between lineup post-time and gametime I guess, but it seems like it might be a major headache to try to compensate everyone for...
-
since I already said I was OK with this I won't go back on it, but if only for the sake of your (Joe's) sanity I'm not sure if it's a precedent we want to set... seems like there will be similar issues every time someone's activated/called up...
