Just wanna wish everyone a nice holiday and hopefully "have a good new year" has a whole different meaning for 2021.
-
Semi-regular message that Christian Walker is available for trade, as is Bryan Reynolds and Jose Berrios. You can blow me away for Buehler or Freeman but I'm likely holding onto them for a potential run next season.
-
Additionally, per the rules it states that trades will be allowed once arbitration is completed. I don't remember exactly how long that process goes on and couldn't find it anywhere. But trading should be opened up again relatively soon. And you can see on the main page that the keeper deadline is January 31 of next year. So that means you can cut players without penalty up until that point and trades will need to keep that under consideration as well. Salaries will be locked in.
-
Friendly reminder that arbitration begins on the 15th. Your players have already had their yearly raises automatically applied. Once arbitration begins, remember that you must use all of your allocation money for your allocations to be submitted and accepted. You can refer to the rules page or my prior email for some more specific details if needed.

I would like to be back as well. Apologies for having an invalid roster after adding Ty France. I planned to drop Suzuki. Just didn't check the league for a couple weeks since I was not in the playoffs. Now my roster is locked (which is fine). I'm gearing up for contention next year.
-
Thanks for the email, Commish. I see no rules that should be changed this year. Looking forward to winning my money back next year! (and blowing it during these playoffs...). Happy offseason!
-
Congrats to champ Choo and also to Crane and Bunters and a big thank you to Commish. Hope my rebuilding works out next year and that everybody stays in the league. It was a nice passtime having back baseball and Ottoneu in these difficult times, be safe everyone.
-
I will be back also
-
I’ll be back as well
-
I'll be back!
-
I'll be back next year for sure.
-
I will be returning next year as well
-
I will be back as well and agree with Infant
-
I don't want a longer one either I just wish there was a way to to trim down the last week since no one is playing games for us. That way it's easier on the roster management and people don't have to keep double checking to see if guys are coming off the IL at once. I guess it'll be fine as is because like I said I don't want longer playoffs either for the reason you said.
-
I think a longer playoff would be bad, because teams rest players the last week of the season. I've seen championships determined because a pitcher sat to rest for the playoffs - sucks to lose that way. Yep, I'll be back next year. Looking forward to draft night!

On another topic, is everyone returning next year?
-
Thanks! A longer playoff might help, and I'd be open to it, but with so many teams eliminated, it will probably still happen.
-
Sending an email to everyone just so it's known as well.
-
That's why i was curious about the season end being after our playoffs. It's a weird one week break where there's nothing going on. Maybe next year a two week playoff would eliminate this?
Either way, I don't like the idea of people just spamming auctions to try and stockpile tradebait.
I'll give people 24 hours to get their rosters valid and then going forward I'll remove the most recent additions if people are maintaining invalid rosters.
-
I see what you're saying, but I don't think that is allowed, per the rulebook - 1.C - "At no time shall a team willingly go over roster and salary cap limits. If a team knowingly does this, they will face penalties at the discretion of their league's commissioner." So, I guess the question is, what is the penalty? In the other league I am in, the commission makes cuts with the most recent adds to the roster until it's legal.
-
As one of the two people you're referring to Puig, I have no incentive to drop anyone right now - since I don't want to add or trade or adjust my lineup - so unless something comes along, I'll be waiting until the "free drop" period to do so. Thanks.

Not sure what the site requires, but I think it is important to enforce valid rosters since now is the time that people are reloading for next year. Obviously don’t want to be too harsh on people who aren’t making moves, but I think anyone making moves right now should be required to keep a valid roster so they can’t just stockpile talent before arbitration.
-
Our playoffs are over now so with these last days before the season ends it's kind of a weird lull. Was it like this last year I don't even remember? Or am I LolCommissioner and missing something. There are still games but no one has incentive to even set rosters so I wonder if it does require valid for additional moves.
-
Just flagging that a handful of teams that are out of the playoffs have invalid rosters - probably because of players coming off of the IL and us not checking rosters daily. I think we can give it a day or two, but if you do have an invalid roster I think it should be made valid before you add any additional players (not sure if it prevents you from doing this or not).
-
Thank you, and you also put together a good team Santa Fe!
-
Congratulations Big League. You put together a great team.
-
Well played Infant. You are a force to be reckoned with. Look forward to a rematch next year.
-
Damn... 17 pts.
GG Santa Fe. Maybe next year.

I bid 11 just so you wouldn't get him but that didn't work

$12 might be a little steep for peralta...

Dang these auctions are crazy so close on both the last two
-
Thank you for taking things to Niv and getting it sorted so the league still functions. I think everything should be good with the lineup bug or whatever. Things are kinda getting back to normal for me so maybe I can be better at being around but this year has been so shitass crazy. Sorry again and thank you to those that reached out/brought the issues up. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs
-
No problem man! We're all fine. Hope you're alright! Just wanted you to get your lineups set so you can compete in these playoffs.
-
Guys I'm so sorry I've been MIA. My life hasn't really calmed down yet since the pandemic began and I honestly barely kept up with my team let alone be a present commissioner. I'm seriously so sorry I haven't been around. Everytime I'd get an email I'd intend to check things out and then I just get swamped again.
-
FYI - there is another playoff bug, where Peaky has too many SP and C spots. Put in a bug report: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/playoff-team-with-5-sp-spots-and-2-catcher-spots/7899
-
Aroldis Chapman and Justin Turner available
-
Ready for some last minute deal discussions, everybody is on the table but not too desperate, despite my place in the standings. If you're looking specifically for injured pitchers, I am your guy.
-
Thank you Puig for forwarding this to Niv. The dude is amazing.

Niv is on the fix! https://community.ottoneu.com/t/short-season-ip-caps-not-working/7878/2?u=banejacobs
Play on as if any innings accumulated on a day after you've hit 280 will not count (until the playoffs start). Cheers! Thanks for catching that. I didn't even look since I knew the games cap was working (I hit it on catching a while back...)
-
I posted on what I believe is the appropriate forum thread: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/2020-games-and-inning-caps/7582/7?u=banejacobs
-
Yep I see that too. That's... not good.
-
Yes. Infant Sorrow received points yesterday Aug 26 even though they are over the 280 innings.
-
It's a soft cap, meaning that they shouldn't be getting innings on days after they hit 280 (though you can go into a day with 279 and pitch 50+ innings that day). Are people getting innings counted on days after they've reached 280?
-
So is the max pitching limit 280 innings fixed? Meaning that I see a team or two that have exceeded this limit and are still gathering pitching points. Thanks
-
Niko Goodrum, Adam Eaton, Byron Buxton and Eric Sogard all available.
-
I also had that issue. Just turned it off until it's hopefully fixed next season or we don't have daily double headers.
