Morning, all. There was an error with the Luke Jackson auction. PROFANE should have won him because he was the lower ranked team in the standings. This error has been confirmed by Niv. To resolve this I am going cut Jackson from Legends and add him back to PROFANE for $2. Legends will not have a cap penalty and PROFANE is free to cut and will retain the $1 cap penalty.

Making Albies available for an impact bat or arm if anyone is interested in trying to work out a deal at the deadline.

Well, our sprint to the end of the regular season is complete. Congrats to the teams who made the playoffs. As a reminder, the number one and two seeds have a bye this week. Each round of the playoffs lasts one week and our playoffs end the Sunday before the final week of the season. You can still add or drop players between now and Sept. 27. After that, rosters freeze and arbitration begins.
-
I didn’t mean to claim Bregman. Oops

We've hit the homestretch of our shortened fantasy baseball season! This is the final week of the regular season and currently 4 teams are vying for the final 2 playoff spots. As a reminder, each division winner and the next three teams with the best record make the playoffs. If multiple teams finish with the same record then total points will be the tiebreaker. Good luck!
-
With two games being postponed because of COVID-19, now seems like a good time to post a reminder of what will happen if MLB doesn't finish the 2020 season: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/what-if-the-mlb-season-doesn-t-finish/7677/2
-
A heads up 3 days into the season: Our SP GS cap does NOT reset on Monday. We all have 9 GS for the matchup, which ends next Sunday. Sorry for the delaying in relaying this. I wrongly assumed it reset Monday.
-
A friendly reminder to update or reset your trade block as we get closer to the start of the season. There are a few teams who list players on their trade block that are no longer on their team.
-
The people have spoken. This shortened season we will be playing against two opponents each week. Two matchup weeks narrowly won out over four matchup weeks. We'll vote again in the off-season for the number of matchups for the 2021 season and beyond.
-
I vote no. (Keep playoffs)
-
Thanks for weighing in, Arthur. And for clarity's sake, a YES vote is to disable the playoffs and a NO vote is to keep the playoffs. Clear as mud?
-
So no.
-
I’d vote to keep playoffs. Make it weird and high variance like the real league.
-
As a follow-up, if we ditched the playoffs for 2020 the teams to finish "in the money" would be the three teams with the best records, regardless of division.
-
H2H schedules are beginning to take shape. Playoffs will begin on Aug. 31, which actually only gives us roughly 5 weeks of a regular season. I do have the ability to disable the playoffs, which would only be done for the 2020 season. If you would like me to disable the playoffs for this season, respond on the message board with YES. If you don't, respond NO. Per league bylaws, it would require a majority (8) to make this change.

Weekly matchup voting update: With nine owners having voted the current results are 5 votes for 4 matchups per week and 4 votes for 2 matchups per week. For those who have not yet voted, you can do so here: https://doodle.com/poll/979sxxgb6vtevmz9
-
Thanks, John. I can't add your vote to the Doodle poll but I'll be sure it is recorded. Currently, there are 4 votes for 4 matchups (including John's) and 2 votes for 2 matchups. Voting is still open here: https://doodle.com/poll/979sxxgb6vtevmz9
-
I vote 4 matchups

What should we do during the COVID-19 quarantine? Why not talk trade? I’m open for trade discussions as time is definitely on my side right now.......

Now that the draft is complete, please update or reset your trade blocks - especially if the players on your block are no longer on your team.
-
One last reminder: Our draft is in less than 10 minutes. See you in the draft room shortly!
-
One final order of business between now and the draft: Clear your trade blocks!
-
Draft date for 2020 is now set! Mark your calendars for March 9 at 8 p.m. (eastern).
-
March 9, 10 & 12 are the leading dates for our draft. If you haven't responded to the Doodle poll, please do so soon with an eye on those dates: https://doodle.com/poll/7z9c4ftvqbzkzfyq.
-
Congrats everyone for surviving another step of the off-season! Now, we turn our attention to the draft. I've set up a Doodle poll, which can be found here: https://doodle.com/poll/7z9c4ftvqbzkzfyq. We're basically looking for one night between mid-February and mid-March to hold the draft. Start time is 8 pm (eastern). It should only take 2-3 hours this time around (fingers crossed). Please vote as soon as you know your availability. I'd like to get this on the books in the next 2 weeks.
-
Alright everyone, today's the day. Get your cuts in by 11:59 p.m. (eastern time) tonight. Trades can be made up until then too, but you can't cut anyone you receive. If you fail to get your cuts in by the deadline, then cuts will be made by me with input from other owners, per Ottoneu rules: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/rules#offseason (VII.e.ii).
-
For those who haven't made all of your cuts yet, I'm looking to add a 2B or SS. Shoot me a note with any of the above before you check the box and we'll see if we can work out a deal.
-
Went to look at allocation results to see if I ended up cutting anyone that got money. Good: Saved $2 because of cutting Harper. Bad: Lost $3 by adding to Pete Alonso before acquiring him via trade. :D lol
-
A quick note: TODAY is the last day you can make a trade if you intend on cutting any of the players you are acquiring. We have a 48 hour wait period once a trade is consummated. FWIW, I would be open to changing that rule and move to a 24 hour wait period if it's the will of the league. Let me know and I'll put it up for a formal vote in Feb.
-
Anyone looking for a power SP or a string OF bat in a hitters park? Both Reds too. I?m fielding offers for Trevor Bauer and Aristedes Aquino prior to the cut deadline. Send trade offers.

$60 Harper is available for anyone wanting to overpay now to ensure they have a solid points earner. And by overpay I mean salary. He is 99% headed to auction if no one wants to offer something up for him. :)
-
I’ve had a lot of trade interest regarding Cavan Biggio. I’m willing to package him with Mark Melancon and or top prospect Joey Bart for an upgrade somewhere. I would like to solidify a deal today, so all interested just send trade offers.

Just updated my trade block for the stretch run making JD Davis, Bohm, Brujan, Carlson, Hayes and Shed Long, the next great 2B of the Seattle Mariners, available. Looking to move future value for present value, if possible.
-
I’m looking to acquire a SS, 3B, SP and more RP prior to the 2020 FA draft. I’ve cleared salary space, so those of you looking to dump salary or players at those positions, message me or send a trade offer and I’ll respond!
Thanks!

Reposting from Facebook: A reminder as we inch closer to the keeper deadline of 11:59 p.m. eastern time on January 31st. Teams must cut down to 40 players or less by the deadline and have at least $1 available for every open roster spot. For instance, if you cut down to 30 players your salaries must not exceed $390.

The long awaited 2020 Surplus Calculator is now available! This is a handy tool to help determine surplus value using 2020 Depth Charts projections. You are free to put as much or as little stock into these numbers as you wish.
The keeper deadline is a mere 46 days away! Calculator (copy to your google drive): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10kKktLiOyTSrrrsOpfRj3gGosnWS-rBxAysbzj_cG24/edit#gid=1899832822

REMINDER: League dues are due by the keeper deadline, which is Jan. 31, 2020. You can renew any time between now and then by going to your user dashboard (https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/userdashboard) and clicking on "extend your dynasty" on the far right side. If you don't pay your dues by the deadline you'll be locked out. There is a 10 day grace period to submit payment. After that your team is marked expired and it will take an act of Congress (or something) to get it back.
-
I’m looking to trade Francisco Lindor, Vlad Jr. or both. Will consider all offers.

Just two weeks in and we've had a pretty active off-season so far! Just a reminder for those who have made trades to update your trade blocks as the players you add to them are not automatically removed after you trade them.
-
Congratulations, everyone. You survived arbitration! Before I get into what comes next, I wanted to share the Top 5 players and Top 3 teams that drew the most arbitration dollars.
Players:
1. Pete Alonso $13
2. Cody Bellinger $12
3. Chris Paddack $12
4. Lucas Giolito $11
5. TIE Gerrit Cole, Rafael Devers, Jack Flaherty $10
Teams:
1. Arthurian Legends $31
2. Springfield Sultans $30
3. Bill Veeck's Peg Leg Ashtray $29
Look for more off-season notes later today.
-
I posted this over in the league Facebook group but wanted to share it here too. Steamer released their 2020 projections yesterday. They'll ebb and flow between now until Opening Day as free agents find homes and playing time becomes clearer, but should help in getting a jump on 2020 keepers and draft planning. Enjoy! https://blogs.fangraphs.com/instagraphs/2020-steamer-projections-now-available/

Thanks Ryan. Actually, I like Zeke's coffee from Baltimore best. Include with trade offers for a lopsided deal. Cheers!
-
NEW OWNER ALERT: Please join me in welcoming Dave Akerly to the Moe Drabowsky Society. He's taking over Chicago Tacos. Dave enjoys lopsided trade offers, Spencer Turnbull's arm slot and Seattle's Best Coffee.
-
A quick note to share with the league: Ryan, the owner of Chicago Tacos, informed me he will not be returning next season. I have a few people interested in taking over his team and will keep you posted on a replacement owner. In the meantime, get those arbitration allocations in before Nov. 14!
-
Today marks the start of arbitration! Be sure to allocate your dollars between now and Nov. 15. Use 'em or lose 'em. The process is very simple: From your team page click on the arbitration tab and use the dropdown menu to go from team-to-team. Players you want to ad arb dollars to can be done using a dropdown menu to the right of the player. If you're not sure who to target, here's a timely article from FanGraphs: https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/2019-ottoneu-arbitration-targets/

An update from Ottoneu Creator Niv Shah on payouts and off-season roster odds and ends: "We will be sending out prizes on Wednesday. Cap penalties and loans will be removed, default salary increases will be applied, and position eligibility will be updated Thursday." As a reminder, all MLB players will have their salary increased by $2 and MiLB players will have their salary increased by $1.
-
For those eyeballing roster moves before the end of the MLB regular season, auctions must be started by Sept. 27 at 11:59 PM eastern. Reminder: Adding flyers at the end of the week with the intention of carrying an illegal roster into the off-season is prohibited.
-
With our season now complete, I wanted to get a handle on who will be returning next year. Feel free to respond on the message board or shoot me an email (rallenhermes@gmail.com). If we have to replace any owners - which I hope we don't - I'd prefer to do so before arbitration begins on Oct. 15.
