Thanks! I had a lot go right in here this year. As usual it's the people I play against that make this and FCA my favorite.
-
Well my attempt of scoring 550 points today fell short. Congrats Schmegs! What a dominate team.
-
Congratulations Schmegs! Back to Back and well over 19K. Impressive.
-
I how you’re right, he’s one of my favorite players, but those 8 starts (with a .223 babip against and a season-ending shoulder injury) don’t seem enough to ignore the rest of his season, or his 40th birthday
-
Counterpoint - $24 might be a little gamble, but he's putting up close to 6ppi in Texas and is over 150 ip on the year. So might be some left in the tank.
-
$304 salary and you still passed me today
-
I don’t disagree. I have tons of free capspace and was price-enforcing

I guess I don't: I was surprised 4 teams thought a 40-yo Scherzer would be worth $24 next year. Hoping for a miracle is one thing but this seems like betting on it.
-
I guess we know our league well
-
Four $22 bids on Scherzer.
-
Adam’s $12 brings our 2023/2024 carry over to $165
-
I owe $12 on that one.
-
That is the worst Ottoneu performance in 2023
-
Ugh, a -65 point start? Thanks Gosolin 😡
-
Would move Ozzie Albies for equivalent, but healthy OF.
-
$52 received from Henry for a total 2024 carryover of $153
-
Kenley Jansen is available for someone I can keep
-
Accepted trade means I owe $52. Will transfer later today.
-
$8 JDM is also a great value and would trade for SP or OF.
-
Anyone interested in Devers for an equivalent outfielder? (same price, same production)?
-
Whit Merrifield has taken off since I traded to Schmeggs. 5.07 ppg...batting .306 and hitting lead off . At 1$ he could be kept with his 2b/of combo. Thrown back I could see him going for 4$ to 6$ , with the classic high floor low ceiling tag
-
Sorry for the delay, I’ve been camping. $6 received from Henry for a total 2023 carryover of $101
-
I Da Ho might be one of those Kevin esque dynasty teams, wowza
-
Bergman is up to 5.34 ppg and way hot, available as too expsensive to keep next year

Just confirming -- I owe $6 for my new $431 cap.
-
I just traded McLain in both leagues. I could be really really really wrong.
-
Great trade Henry
-
Just missed him, thanks though. About time!
-
Hey Mikey CES is up and starting today…I’m using him at 1B in FCA.
-
I disagree that the incentives don’t work on anyone—I don’t expect to win this league this year but I’m not treating it like FCA either. Same maybe for Mikey (I will finish ahead of you Mikey!). But if others are going to ignore the spirit of the league it seems I’m wasting my time. Now how can I get 9th..,.
-
I agree that 1 thing we wanted to do was avoid the $800 teams, and the cap obviously does that. But—just like in real baseball—the problem isn’t (just) teams trying to win. So the complicated set of incentives/penalties for tanking. I agree with the obvious statement that it’s not effective.
-
I don't think our other incentives are very meaningful. At least they don't seem to affect anyone's behavior except for the annual scrum for 9th.
-
The cap can't really prevent teams from selling, because there are always multiple buyers. We did discuss a floor, but if I recall correctly, Mikey is right. We set up a structure to prevent $800 payroll while still allowing teams to rebuild as they see fit.
-
I think we need a salary floor along with the cap.
-
I think we were trying to keep more teams competing. That’s why there are incentives for finishing midpack, and a penalty for finishing last. The salary cap is a (bad, favored by the small-market teams) way to prevent teams from selling off.
-
Again I disagree. I wanted to eliminate the ability to buy a championship. While I agree we haven’t eliminated it, I think we’ve reduced it. I’d still like to try having no or extremely limited loans.
-
Tanking. That’s what we wanted to avoid.
-
I don’t think I agree. The top teams in FCA look to have about twice the amount of incoming loans. What measure are you looking at?
-
It seems like the incentive/penalty structure here isn’t really working.
-
Bregman and loan available for a player i can keep, hes hot finally
-
$10 from Adam brings us to $95 carryover for 2024
-
And just like that HENRY is in 1st
-
Yeah, it has been fun (all of June actually—I don’t think I’d start anyone against the Braves right now), though today after the 1st everyone seemed to just want to get out of there before the thunderstorms arrive. If it’s like my house at the park they just made it.
-
If I were contending I would worry about matchups more. At this point I’m just throwing guys in the lineup and letting it ride. Bad scouting today. God the Braves are annihilating the Marlins this series. Fun to watch.
-
Kevin, very surprised to see you started Eury against the Braves on a 96-feels-like-102 afternoon in Atlanta. HR, HR, single, single, double, double, groundout, double. I’ll probably pay for starting Charlie too.
-
I think I owe $10 on that last trade.
-
Nice outing for Jose Soriano today , 5 k in two innings 21 points .
-
Not nice outing for Joe Ryan today
-
I have the following players I'd like to move to a contender, not expecting the moon, just someone to keep for next year . 15$ injured OF that haven't had a good year for two years are not wanted . : Suzuki, Bregman, Kopech, Sewald, Fairbanks, Jansen
