Good IPAs?
-
They're mediocre, tbh. I can make you the best wings you've ever had, but it's like a 5-hour process that I can't practically replicate for mass consumption.

Does the bar have good wings ?
-
Not that it’s a realistic ask for all to attend, but everyone is welcome to come auction live next year in my bar in Raleigh. We could schedule it the same weekend Brent will have flown in for the old league. I have plenty of space at the house to put up a good number of you, so the flight is all it would cost. Might be nice to put faces with the names since this league looks like it has legs. Just a thought

In one of my leagues years ago we got about half the owners together for an afternoon at a baseball game (Staten Island Yankees). But that was by far a more northeast corridor group.
-
Kinda already got said but I crossed paths with Kevin while working at USFWS. So far Hook is the only other one I've managed to meet in person. If the message board chatter and Kevin's interests in beer and baseball are anything to go by I'm missing out on good company.
-
While not a Sox fan , I am an admirer of the organization the last four years , and what they have built.
-
Chi sox are committed to getting at bats for Mercedes , may use him at 3b some days to rest Moncada . Will DH plenty , and play vs all lefties until Eloy comes back. Vaughn defense already looks better than Eloy in LF.
-
Seems like Brent has met the most people
-
Anyone want to gamble on Bobby Dalbec?
-
I started playing Roto in 1991. Got my cuz Kev in an NL-only a few years after that, and Brent a few years later. Brent still comes out annually for an NL-only league in its 18th season (but not this stupid year). I haven’t met anyone else.

Yeaa finally get to use Nelson Cruz in lineup
-
Jeremy hasn't chimed in with his story yet
-
…Anyway, Drew got Patrick and I involved in this league and I think everyone else I know from here and have never actually met in the flesh. I too remember that crazy first FCA draft; I was traveling and doing it from a hotel room in Scottsdale. When was that? I took early retirement from the government 6 years ago (not too long after we started this league) and continue to contract to agencies and companies and do pro bono work for environmental NGOs.
-
…I continued to get involved with a lot of FWS people, including Patrick, Joe, and Drew when they each did their time there; did Kevin really play in the FWS h2h league? While I always thought that was a different Kevin, I was always a little mystified by it being the one I thought. Though Kevin, I do think I’ve been involved with some of your projects over the years (many, many years ago)….
-
Well, it looks like my story has pretty much been covered as well, but I appreciated others adding to their story, so here goes. Yeah, me, Pat, and Joe worked for FWS in northern CA through most of the 90s. In the late 90s, after swearing we’d never return, Kelly and I moved back to where we grew up, the D.C. area, to work in the Service’s HQ. After further swearing that this move would be for not more than two to four years… here we still are 22 years later. During my 16 years in HQ…
-
Pretty much explained for me already. Though, I definitely overlapped with you Pat, and a little bit with Joe. I started working with Cooper when he moved to AK about 5yrs ago, but have not met any of the group that hasn't worked for FWS. I still remember that first draft for FCA. I think it took close to 7hrs over 2 nights.
-
I was going to meet Jermy but the printer we sold in his area , closed their doors.
-
I had Brent and Kevin as houseguests, and they were so easy ( my in laws are here and they are the opposite ). Was a blast! My wife loved having them as much as I did, she did say " man did those boys go through the TP " .
-
I've only met Kevin, Fred, and Schmegs in real life, and haven't worked with anyone, though I use products developed by Mikey at work all the time. Maybe we can make the cactus league draft happen eventually.
-
Kevin, basically covered me. Except I think he initially invited me to a football spinoff of that old H2H league. I don't think I had even played fantasy baseball before. It still pains me that baseball league folded before I ever won, not that I didn't have ample opportunities.
-
Also, who needs a MI? I need to swap Baez for an OF
-
My story has pretty much been covered by everyone else, but here goes. Kev and I met in middle school and I met Jeremy soon after. Charlie and I worked together for a couple of years in the hotel industry back in the early 2010s and I met Fred in-person for the first time around then as well. Had the pleasure of meeting Pat (and Joe) a few years back. Hook and I have never met in person somehow. Maybe one of these days for him and the other half of the league that I know only online.
-
...though in the end it proved too much, or too little, for him. I may have met other FWS folks, especially during the oil spill when it seemed I met or talked to half the agency; apologies if that’s slipped my mind. Surprisingly, I’ve met Brent. But Charles went out of his way to avoid me when I was in Phoenix for the Fall League. I also *think* I played in a random league with Henry before he was in this league....
-
Who do I know in person? Joe since I started grad school at Davis in the mid 80s; first worked with Mikey at the FWS office in Sacramento around 1990; Mikey and I later worked with Drew in DC, though Drew and I may not have overlapped—I may have been gone to HNL by the time he started, but the 3 of us started playing in a h2h league together around then. Joe also was in that league til he drove us crazy; Kevin played a year I think...
-
One clarification about Kevin’s history: Drew was our connection to the rest of you, but Mikey and I were in FCA since the start (Mikey famously won the first season), we weren’t replacements. Maybe some of the folks from your old NL league realized how much work it would be even w/o playing.
-
Fred you know you love me. Besides if I wasn't here who else would you have to bitch about. I know I love you Fred through the good and the bad.
-
It's cool so many craft beer affecianados in here too
-
Drew is also one of the nicest folks in here imo .
-
Henry is a good egg , always friendly and approachable
-
Ive also been surprised how well this core group has stuck together. We've had some coming and goings, but have really settled in with a great group. So thanks to Hitch for started my fantasy addiction, Brent for playing alongside me for 20+ years, Fred for being a reasonable dude in a wild H2H league, Hook for starting Otto, Drew for finding people to fill abandoned teams, and the rest of you for being great competitors for so many years. Play ball!
-
Brent brought in Chuck (Galaxy) to the H2H league; Drew invited Pat (Bat), Mike (Minions), and Coop (Taco). Ill let them tell their own stories. So Henry, you are the only one not at least indirectly linked to me. You are probably better off for that (ha). I have to say we are lucky that we got Henry as a random addition, he's been the best 'stranger' Ive played with in Otto.
-
Brent has taken full responsibility for ChRles being here , and if he doesn't, I remind him
-
When a lot of folks quit, I invited Drew (mice) whom I worked with in Utah. I worked with Schmegs (Idaho) in Utah as well, spending many river days talking Mariners baseball. I also worked with Joe (NGB, his memory still shines) in Colorado, but didnt know him nearly as well as Pat and Mike.
-
Brent also later joined that H2H league. Hook (Eloy) and I barely overlapped in grad school, but all it took was one serious conversation about fantasy sports and I invited him to the H2H league. Hook can be credited as the mastermind who brought us over to this format and for that I an eternally grateful. I believe the first iteration of Full Circuit had a lot folks from the NL only roto league, but lots founds it too time consuming (I think).
-
I guess Im the grand community builder here, bringing this league together with friends from many periods of my life. I started fantasy in the mid-90s with an NL only Roto introduced to me by Hitch (Losers). Brent (Suaves) was my high school gambling buddy who later joined that league. After college a friend from work put me in contact with a long running head-to-head league run by his cousin, where I met Fred (Mutley).
-
I've really enjoyed the professional cross-talk about fish and birds over the year. I myself am a designer turned software engineer.
-
Well I came in through the back door. I started playing Ottoneu 5 or 6 years ago. I claimed an abandoned team. That league folded. I looked around for another abandoned team. Full Circuit Auctionhouse had a notice posted. Long hours. Low pay. Highly competitive. That was my lucky day. It's been the most fun league I've played with a great group of folks.
-
I am well saisfied that Cooper is not NGB incognido , had reservations at first.
-
since there are no day games , and im bored as hell, thought it would be good idea (since this is a mature league) , for everyone to explain how they got to the league/who they know in person. I am here because of John, Kevin, Brent and even Charles and myslef being in a H2H league for many years . I have met Brent , Kevin, and John in person, I do not work with any of them, or in their professional fields.
-
Hmm, maybe Keller was an unwise add. -19 pts in 1.1 innings
-
I got caught in a pinch with Houston not putting Framber on the 60-day IL. Annoying.
-
Love the madbum cut. Smart to cut him loose before he gets rocked today.
the "pre-rage cut" is the new "rage cut"!
-
Kole Calhoun taking BP already and just waiting to be auctioned.
-
That was quick.
-
I would offer up a NGB-style hot take to stir things up, but my takes are tepid, at best.
-
Been very quite
-
Though there’s been a lot of activity here (which I do appreciate), not much chatter. Maybe people have switched over to the other league chat board since we have our auction there this weekend?
-
I'm still waiting for a good bad offer.
-
Oh sorry forgot polanco in the offer you proposed. So polanco and trout for Yelich and machado. Is that correct now?
